On the Book Thickness of 1-Planar Graphs [PDF]
In a book embedding of a graph G, the vertices of G are placed in order along a straight-line called spine of the book, and the edges of G are drawn on a set of half-planes, called the pages of the book, such that two edges drawn on a page do not cross each other. The minimum number of pages in which a graph can be embedded is called the book-thickness

Embedding 1-Planar Graphs in Ten Pages [PDF]
Every planar graph has a 4-page book embedding and this bound is tight. We show that every 1-planar graph, which is a graph that admits a drawing with at most one crossing per edge, has a 10-page book embedding. In addition, four pages are sometimes necessary and always sufficient if the planar skeleton, obtained from a 1-planar drawing by removing all

Diamond Chemistry: Advances and Perspectives
Diamond as a material has many unique properties. More recently, diamond has emerged as a material with a wide range of applications in chemistry and biology. The high intrinsic stability of diamond, coupled with the ability to modify diamond surfaces with a wide range of species via highly stable covalent linkages, provides a wealth of opportunity to ...

Abstract Background Most voice hearers report childhood trauma. Many voice hearers report comorbid post‐traumatic stress symptoms and that the content of their voices (auditory verbal hallucinations) is directly (voices repeat phrases spoken by perpetrators) or indirectly (voice content and trauma is thematically similar) related to their trauma.

For the last decade there has been a lively debate on urban arrival spaces. Saunders’ (2011) widely received book Arrival Cities can be seen as catalyst of this debate.

Embeddings of $3$--manifolds via open books [PDF]
In this note, we discuss embeddings of $3$--manifolds via open books. First we show that every open book of every closed orientable $3$--manifold admits an open book embedding in any open book decompistion of $S^2 \times S^3$ and $S^2 \widetilde{\times} S^3$ with the page a disk bundle over $S^2$ and monodromy the identity.

Online conversation communities have become an influential source of consumer recommendations in recent years. We propose a set of meaningful user segments which emerge from user embedding representations, based exclusively on comments’ text input.

The velar chord and dynamic integration of the gular valve in crocodylians
Crocodilians have a unique gular valve that forms a seal between the oral cavity and the pharynx. The gular valve has traditionally been treated as two parts: a mobile ventral flap associated with the tongue and a fixed dorsal velum palatini. This work describes a connective tissue band, the velar chord, which functionally integrates the two parts of ...

Enhanced Transformer-BLSTM Model for Classifying Sentiment of User Comments on Movies and Books
Classifying the sentiment of user comments on a website is a crucial task within Natural Language Processing (NLP). Conducting sentiment analysis can aid businesses in gaining a more profound comprehension and examination of users’ emotional ...

Helmeted hornbill cranial kinesis: Balancing mobility and stability in a high‐impact joint
Abstract Prokinesis—in which a craniofacial joint allows the rostrum to move relative to the braincase—is thought to confer diverse advantages in birds, mostly for feeding. A craniofacial joint would, however, be a weak link if cranial stability is important. Paradoxically, we have identified a craniofacial joint in helmeted hornbills (Rhinoplax vigil),
