Rings and residuated lattices whose fuzzy ideals form a Boolean algebra

Soft Computing, 2021
In this paper, we characterize those rings $${\mathcal {A}}$$ and complete Brouwerian residuated lattices $${\mathcal {L}}$$ whose residuated lattice

A cylindrical algebra based on the Boolean ring

Studia Logica, 1967
In their aim to algebraize the predicate calculus Tarski, Henkin and Thompson [7], [8] constructed the theory of cylindrical algebras, and Halmos [1] created the theory of polyadic algebras. Both these theories are based on the Boolean algebras, i.e. the sets of axioms of these theories enclose the axioms of the Boolean algebras.

Boolean Algebras, Generalized Abelian Rings, and Grothendieck Groups

Communications in Algebra, 2006
A ring R is called generalized Abelian if for each idempotent e in R, eR and (1 − e)R have no isomorphic nonzero summands.

The Set of Intermediate Rings as a Boolean Algebra

Communications in Algebra, 2014
Let R ⊂ S be an extension of integral domains, Supp(S/R) = {P ∈ Spec(R): (S/R) P  ≠ 0} the support of the R-module S/R, and [R, S] the set of intermediate rings between R and S. We prove the following theorem: If there is a maximal chain of rings from R to S of length n and Supp(S/R) consists of n maximal ideals, then ([R, S], ·, ∩) is a boolean ...

Short Formulations of Boolean Algebra, Using Ring Operations

Canadian Journal of Mathematics, 1951
Special interest has recently attached to formulations of Boolean algebra in terms of ring operations [7], [1]. These axiomatizations have not been as brief as those reached through other modes of approach.

On Boolean algebras and integrally closed commutative regular rings

Journal of Symbolic Logic, 1992
AbstractIn this paper we consider properties, related to model-completeness, of the theory of integrally closed commutative regular rings. We obtain the main theorem claiming that in a Boolean algebra B, the truth of a prenex Σn-formula whose parameters ai, partition B, can be determined by finitely many conditions built from the first entry of Tarski ...

WHEN IS THE SET OF INTERMEDIATE RINGS A FINITE BOOLEAN ALGEBRA

2010
Let R ⊂ S be an extension of integral domains with identity such that R is not a field and R is integrally closed in S. We determine necessary and sufficient conditions so that the set of intermediate rings [R, S] between R and S is a finite boolean algebra.
