Acaricide efficacy against a Brazilian Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus isolated field population over a five-year period

open access: yesPubvet, 2020

Identification and distribution of Rhipicephalus microplus in selected high-cattle density districts in Uganda: signaling future demand for novel tick control approaches

open access: yesBMC Veterinary Research
Background Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus (Canestrini, 1888), the Asian blue tick, is a highly invasive and adaptable ectoparasite. This tick species has successfully established itself in most regions of the world, with movement of cattle being a ...

Bovine immunoprotection against Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus with recombinant Bm86-Campo Grande antigen Imunoproteção de bovinos contra Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus com antígeno recombinante Bm86-Campo Grande

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Parasitologia Veterinária, 2012
The southern cattle fever tick, Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus, is no doubt the most economically important ectoparasite of cattle globally. The inappropriate use of chemical acaricides has driven the evolution of resistance in populations of R. (B.)

Metabolism of Chlorphenamidine in Larvae of the Cattle Tick Boophilus Microplus [PDF]

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Biological Sciences, 1971
Larval ticks were immersed in aqueous preparations of chlorphenamidine labelled with 14C in the 2-methyl position. The chemical penetrated rapidly and produced no mortality of larvae, but a quick knockdown from which at low concentrations they appeared to recover quickly.

Commercialisation of a recombinant vaccine againstBoophilus microplus

open access: yesParasitology, 1995
SummaryIncreasingly, there is need for methods to control cattle tick (Boophilus microplus) infestations by the use of non-chemical technology. This need is brought about by a mixture of market forces and the failure or inadequacy of existing technology. A recombinant vaccine has now been developed against the tick.
