A Single-stage Boost-Flyback PFC Converter

2006 CES/IEEE 5th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference, 2006
This paper presents a novel single-stage single-switch power factor correction (PFC) converter. The proposed topology is derived by combining a boost cell and a flyback cell into one power stage. In this converter, the transformer in the flyback cell has two-coupling primary windings, which have the same turns.

Design and implementation of an integrated boost-flyback converter

IECON 2015 - 41st Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2015
This paper presents design and implementation of a Integrated boost-flyback converter (IBFC). Operation of the IBFC is described and its key voltage and current equations are given. The practical design of a 96W, 12V-to-48V, IBFC is demonstrated. Experiment on the prototype IBFC shows that it operates with good output voltage regulation and achieves ...

Coexistence of solutions in a boost-flyback converter with current mode control

2017 IEEE 8th Latin American Symposium on Circuits & Systems (LASCAS), 2017
In many practical applications power Converters are designed to work in a desired operation point depending on the needs of the appliance. The ability of the system to work in that point is related to a correct dynamic analysis that eventually leads to de design of a proper control strategy.

A Novel Discontinuous Input Current Boost Flyback Converter for LED Applications

2021 2nd International Conference for Emerging Technology (INCET), 2021
In this paper a new boost fly back converter is presented. With this converter a discontinuous input current is achieved along with less voltage stress across the switch. In this converter 1:1 transformer is used but the primary side of transformer is having midpoint tapping to connect the capacitors in series and parallel combination to achieve high ...

Charging multiple batteries using the boost-flyback converter

2012 IEEE International Energy Conference and Exhibition (ENERGYCON), 2012
A boost-flyback converter was investigated for its ability to charge separate battery stacks from a low-voltage high-current renewable energy source. A low voltage (12V) battery was connected in the boost configuration, and a high voltage (330V) battery stack was connected in the flyback configuration.

Integrated switched coupled-inductor boost-flyback converter

2017 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE), 2017
This paper presents an Integrated switched-coupled-inductor boost-flyback converter (abbreviated as SCIBFC), which has benefits of both Integrated boost-flyback converter (IBFC) and switched coupled-inductor boost converter. The principle of the proposed converter, analysis of operation (including the effects of parasitic parameters), and design ...

Control IC for Boost-Flyback Converter for Energy Harvesting Applications

2018 International Power Electronics Conference (IPEC-Niigata 2018 -ECCE Asia), 2018
Conventionally, boost converter is used for high step-up energy harvesting system, but it is needed to be operated in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) because of the limitation of the topology. Therefore, it causes more conduction loss and current stress on the switch.

Modeling, simulation and experimental set-up of a boost-flyback converter

2015 IEEE 2nd Colombian Conference on Automatic Control (CCAC), 2015
In this work, a theoretical analysis of a boost-flyback converter is presented. The open loop operation and the inner dynamics of the coupled inductors are shown. A complete mathematical model, including the internal resistances of the inductors, is presented and simulated with Matlab®.

Quadratic Boost-Flyback DC-DC Converter With Coupled Inductors

2018 13th IEEE International Conference on Industry Applications (INDUSCON), 2018
A high-gain dc-dc converter, which integrates a quadratic boost flyback converter through coupled inductors is proposed in this paper. The integration generates a converter with high-gain using only one switch. The structure allows using the energy stored in the leakage inductance of the first coupled inductor on the load.
