Cost‐Effective Ultra‐High Step‐Up SEPIC‐Based DC‐DC Converter Integrated With Coupled‐Inductor for Solar‐Powered DC Microgrids

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, Volume 18, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
1. A new step‐up DC‐DC converter is introduced for DC microgrids. 2. The converter integrates SEPIC structure, a coupled inductor, and voltage‐boosting cells to achieve an ultra‐high voltage gain compared to its base converters. 3. It features a common ground between input and output, minimising leakage capacitance and EMI. 4.

Maximum power point tracking‐based model predictive control with reduced sensor count for PV applications

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
Abstract This paper discusses the MPPT based on finite‐set model predictive control (FS‐MPC) in photovoltaic (PV) systems. Generally, the FS‐MPC implementation needs more sensors in comparison with the traditional methods due to the existence of the prediction stage.

Boost–flyback converter with interleaved input current and output voltage series connection

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, 2018
This study proposed a high‐gain dc–dc converter with an interleaved current at the input stage and voltage series connection at the output stage. This converter was designed based on the boost–flyback topology, which has as main characteristic high voltage gain.
