Effects of the Fluid Replacement Method During Online Hemodiafiltration on the Solute Removal Performance and Biocompatibility Using the Asymmetric Cellulose Triacetate Membrane

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Pre‐dilution online hemodiafiltration (Pre‐HDF) is predominantly used in Japan, whereas post‐dilution online HDF (Post‐HDF) is more common in Europe. An asymmetric cellulose triacetate (ATA) membrane may improve biocompatibility.

Small x divergences in the Similarity RG approach to LF QCD

open access: yes, 2002
We study small x divergences in boost invariant similarity renormalization group approach to light-front QCD in a heavy quark-antiquark state. With the boost invariance maintained, the infrared divergences do not cancel out in the physical states ...

2-d Gravity as a Limit of the SL(2,R) Black Hole [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
The transformation of the $SL(2,R)/U(1)$ black hole under a boost of the subgroup U(1) is studied. It is found that the tachyon vertex operators of the black hole go into those of the $c=1$ conformal field theory coupled to gravity.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Three phase boost rectifier design [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
An electric power can be converted from one form to another form by using power electronics devices. The function of power electronics circuits by using semiconductor devices as switch is modifying or controlling a voltage.

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Symmetries of asymptotically flat electrovacuum spacetimes and radiation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
Symmetries compatible with asymptotic flatness and admitting gravitational and electromagnetic radiation are studied by using the Bondi-Sachs-van der Burg formalism. It is shown that in axially symmetric electrovacuum spacetimes in which at least locally

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...
