Boost PFC converter versus bridgeless boost PFC converter EMI analysis

2014 International Conference on Applied and Theoretical Electricity (ICATE), 2014
The main drawback related to the PFC converters is the increasing of the electromagnetic interference (EMI). Thus, the high frequency noise must be filter out in order to ensure compliance with EMI European standards (EN 1000-3-2 or EN 1000-3-4). The paper investigates two topologies: the conventional boost PFC converter and the bridgeless boost PFC ...

A novel voltage-bucking/boosting converter: KY buck-boost converter

2008 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology, 2008
In this paper, a novel voltage-bucking/boosting converter, named as KY buck-boost converter (i.e. 2D converter) is presented herein. Unlike the traditional buck-boost converter, this converter possesses fast transient responses, similar to the behavior of the buck converter with synchronous rectification.

Design and comparison of quadratic boost and double cascade boost converters with boost converter

2017 14th International Multi-Conference on Systems, Signals & Devices (SSD), 2017
Basically, the output voltage in renewable energy sources is improved using the boost converter, which is the key part in a photovoltaic chain. In this converter, the switching frequency is limited; hence the output voltage is reduced. To overcome this problem, two topologies are proposed; the quadratic boost converter results by combining the ...

Analysis and Simulation of Boost Converter Versus Tri-state Boost Converter

2021
In this work, comparative analysis between boost converter and tri-state boost converter is presented. The work started from the modeling of boost converter followed by modeling of the tri-state boost converter. The performance of both the converters is discussed properly, and then after the power losses are investigated for both the converters ...

Multilevel boost DC-DC converter derived from basic double-boost converter

2013 15th European Conference on Power Electronics and Applications (EPE), 2013
This paper presents a nonisolated multilevel step-up dc-dc converter suitable for high power and high output voltage application. The main features of proposed converter are: reduced voltage across the semiconductors; low switching losses; and reduced volume of input inductor. This paper focuses on the five-level structure of the proposed converter, in

High-voltage boost converter

2011 IEEE Ninth International Conference on Power Electronics and Drive Systems, 2011
In this paper, a high-voltage boost converter is presented, whose operating principle is based on charge pumps and series boost converters. Furthermore, although three switches are used, no isolated gate driver is needed instead of one half-bridge gate driver and one low-side gate driver.

Modeling and Comparison of Boost Converter With Cascaded Boost Converters

2018
Photovoltaic (PV) energy is a very important renewable energy source. The output voltage in renewable energy sources a is improved using DC-DC converters, which are the key part in a photovoltaic chain. Among the classic DC-DC topologies, the boost converter is the most used because of its simplicity and high efficiency.

Flying-capacitor boost converter

2012 Twenty-Seventh Annual IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition (APEC), 2012
This paper introduces the flying-capacitor dc-dc boost converter. In the proposed topology, a high voltage gain ratio and improved conversion efficiency are achieved with low inductor core and copper losses. The input current ripple of the new converter is low while its ripple frequency is high, yielding a low-sized input filter.

A KY Boost Converter

2009 Twenty-Fourth Annual IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition, 2009
In this letter, a KY boost converter is presented, which is the KY converter combined with the traditional synchronously rectified (SR) boost converter. Such a converter has continuous input and output inductor currents, different from the traditional SR boost converter, and has a larger voltage conversion ratio than the traditional SR boost converter ...
