Extended-Boost $Z$-Source Inverters
IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2009The Z-source inverter has gained popularity as a single-stage buck-boost inverter topology among many researchers. However, its boosting capability could be limited, and therefore, it may not be suitable for some applications requiring very high boost demand of cascading other dc-dc boost converters.

Improved switching boost inverter
2016 IEEE 11th Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA), 2016Z source inverter overcomes the shortcomings of the traditional voltage source and current source, but its DC side current is not continuous, the voltage utilization is low and the boost factor is limited. In recent years, some scholars have proposed a new inverter — switching boost inverter (SBI).

Inverter is a definitive solution toward ac voltage regulation in a system having input dc voltage variation. This paper proposes, a novel single-stage single-phase buck-boost inverter called dual buck-boost inverter. It has the buck-boost function and requires only four active switches. It has no shoot-through worries and has improved reliability.

The voltage range of a renewable energy source, such as the photovoltaic cell, is influenced by the environment, light, temperature, and so on. The power conditioning system should adapt to the wide input voltage and have buck-boost ability. Based on the structure of the “ac/ac unit,” this paper presents a novel active buck-boost inverter (ABI ...

Switched capacitor boost inverter
2016 IEEE 25th International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE), 2016The differential boost inverter (DBI) generates an alternating differential voltage from two dc-dc converters. The instantaneous output voltage can be higher or lower than the dc input voltage, however DBIs exhibit nonlinear control-to-output behavior in large-signal sense.
