An Explainable Multimodal Artificial Intelligence Model Integrating Histopathological Microenvironment and EHR Phenotypes for Germline Genetic Testing in Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents an explainable multimodal AI model, MAIGGT (Multimodal Artificial Intelligence Germline Genetic Testing), that combines whole‐slide histopathology with clinical data for accurate germline BRCA1/2 mutation prescreening. By integrating digital pathology and EHR phenotypes, MAIGCT enables cost‐effective, scalable hereditary breast ...

A Weighted Bootstrap Approach to Bootstrap Iteration

open access: yesJournal of the Royal Statistical Society Series B: Statistical Methodology, 2000
Summary The operation of resampling from a bootstrap resample, encountered in applications of the double bootstrap, maybe viewed as resampling directly from the sample but using probability weights that are proportional to the numbers of times that sample values appear in the resample.

Single‐Cell Transcriptome Reveals Aquaporin‐Mediated Carbon Nanosol‐Induced Growth Promotion of Plants

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Carbon nanosol (CNS) exhibits rapid root penetration capacity, enhancing plant growth through boosting stomatal density and antioxidative enzyme activity. Single‐cell transcriptomic profiling uncovers cell type‐specific gene expression patterns and developmental trajectories during CNS‐mediated growth promotion.

Change-point in stochastic design regression and the bootstrap [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2011
In this paper we study the consistency of different bootstrap procedures for constructing confidence intervals (CIs) for the unique jump discontinuity (change-point) in an otherwise smooth regression function in a stochastic design setting. This problem exhibits nonstandard asymptotics and we argue that the standard bootstrap procedures in regression ...

Designer Electrocatalysts for the Oxygen Reduction Reaction with Controlled Platinum Nanoparticle Locality

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Pt/C catalysts differing only in the locality of the Pt nanoparticles, whether inside or outside of the pores of the same carbon support, are needed to study the effect of said locality. Depending on the carbon support used, nanoparticles inside the pores can show hindered accessibility and ORR performance.

Bootstrapping a Change-Point Cox Model for Survival Data [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2013
This paper investigates the (in)-consistency of various bootstrap methods for making inference on a change-point in time in the Cox model with right censored survival data. A criterion is established for the consistency of any bootstrap method. It is shown that the usual nonparametric bootstrap is inconsistent for the maximum partial likelihood ...

Bootstrap Hypothesis Testing [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper surveys bootstrap and Monte Carlo methods for testing hypotheses in econometrics. Several different ways of computing bootstrap P values are discussed, including the double bootstrap and the fast double bootstrap.

Food waste, date labels, and risk preferences: An experimental exploration

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
Abstract This study provides theoretical and experimental evidence that consumers adjust their premeditated food waste by date labels and their risk and loss preferences. The “Use by” date label leads to more premeditated food waste than “Best by” for deli meat and spaghetti sauce.
