Bootstrap Testing in Nonlinear Models [PDF]
When a model is nonlinear, bootstrap testing can be expensive because of the need to perform at least one nonlinear estimation for every bootstrap sample.

Bootstrap prediction intervals for power-transformed time series [PDF]
In this paper we propose a bootstrap resampling scheme to construct prediction intervals for future values of a variable after a linear ARIMA model has been fitted to a power transformation of it.

Exploring the relationship between growth in online shopping and multichannel food consumers
Abstract During the pandemic, many food retailers began offering online shopping options, primarily in reaction to rising consumer demand for such options, which was a response to supply chain disruptions and fear of contagion and food scarcity.

Second Order Correctness of Perturbation Bootstrap M-Estimator of Multiple Linear Regression Parameter [PDF]
Consider the multiple linear regression model $y_{i} = \boldsymbol{x}'_{i} \boldsymbol{\beta} + \epsilon_{i}$, where $\epsilon_i$'s are independent and identically distributed random variables, $\mathbf{x}_i$'s are known design vectors and $\boldsymbol{\beta}$ is the $p \times 1$ vector of parameters.

No unitary bootstrap for the fractal Ising model
A bstractWe consider the conformal bootstrap for spacetime dimension 1 < d < 2. We determine bounds on operator dimensions and compare our results with various theoretical and numerical models, in particular with resummed ϵ-expansion and Monte Carlo ...

The nonparametric bootstrap for the current status model
It has been proved that direct bootstrapping of the nonparametric maximum likelihood estimator (MLE) of the distribution function in the current status model leads to inconsistent confidence intervals. We show that bootstrapping of functionals of the MLE can however be used to produce valid intervals.

King and Cochrane: The technological treadmill and racial inequity in US agriculture
Abstract Between 1920 and 1969, the number of Black farmers in the US decreased from 14% of all operators to 4%. Using Martin Luther King Jr.'s critique of agricultural policy and Willard Cochrane's theory of the technological treadmill, we explore how racial discrimination was linked to policies that led to structural change in US agriculture.

How to Bootstrap Aalen-Johansen Processes for Competing Risks? Handicaps, Solutions and Limitations [PDF]
Statistical inference in competing risks models is often based on the famous Aalen-Johansen estimator. Since the corresponding limit process lacks independent increments, it is typically applied together with Lin's (1997) resampling technique involving standard normal multipliers.

Bootstrap Tests Based on Goodness-of-Fit Measures for Nonnested Hypotheses in Regression Models [PDF]
This paper utilizes the bootstrap to construct tests using the measures for goodness-of-fit for nonnested regression models. The bootstrap enables us to compute the statistical significance of the differences in the measures and to formally test on ...
