Projection of bootstrap current in the ITER with standard type I ELMy H-mode and steady state scenarios [PDF]

open access: yesSongklanakarin Journal of Science and Technology (SJST), 2012
The investigation of bootstrap current formation in ITER is carried out using BALDUR integrated predictive modelingcode. The combination of Mixed B/gB anomalous transport model and NLCASS module together with the pedestal model isused in BALDUR code to ...

Investigation of parameter uncertainty in clustering using a Gaussian mixture model via jackknife, bootstrap and weighted likelihood bootstrap [PDF]

open access: yesComputational statistics (Zeitschrift), 2015
Mixture models with (multivariate) Gaussian components are a popular tool in model-based clustering. Such models are often fitted by a procedure that maximizes the likelihood, such as the EM algorithm.

EEG Response to Sedation Interruption Complements Behavioral Assessment After Severe Brain Injury

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Accurate assessment of the level of consciousness and potential to recover in patients with severe brain injury underpins crucial decisions in the intensive care unit but remains a major challenge for the clinical team. The neurological wake‐up test is a widely used assessment tool. However, many patients' behavioral responses during

AR-sieve Bootstrap for High-dimensional Time Series [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
This paper proposes a new AR-sieve bootstrap approach on high-dimensional time series. The major challenge of classical bootstrap methods on high-dimensional time series is two-fold: the curse dimensionality and temporal dependence. To tackle such difficulty, we utilise factor modelling to reduce dimension and capture temporal dependence simultaneously.

Whole‐Blood RNA Sequencing Profiling of Patients With Rheumatoid Arthritis Treated With Tofacitinib

open access: yesACR Open Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective Patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) often fail to respond to therapies, including JAK inhibitors (JAKi), and treatment allocation is made via a trial‐and‐error strategy. A comprehensive analysis of responses to JAKi, including tofacitinib, by RNA sequencing (RNAseq) would allow the discovery of transcriptomic markers with a two‐fold ...

Frequentist and Bayesian measures of confidence via multiscale bootstrap for testing three regions

open access: yes, 2008
A new computation method of frequentist $p$-values and Bayesian posterior probabilities based on the bootstrap probability is discussed for the multivariate normal model with unknown expectation parameter vector.

Bootstrapping Regression Models

open access: yesThe Annals of Statistics, 1981
The regression and correlation models are considered. It is shown that the bootstrap approximation to the distribution of the least squares estimates is valid, and some error bounds are given.

Predicting Aggregation Behavior of Nanoparticles in Liquid Crystals via Automated Data‐Driven Workflows

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Herein, a comprehensive framework that enabled the optimization of colloidal solubility within a high‐dimensional parameter space and study of reversible assembly processes is developed. This data‐driven workflow integrated innovations including the robotic platform for automated AuNPs functionalization, machine learning for predicting and revealing ...

Single nucleotide polymorphisms in the CDH18 gene affect growth traits in Hu sheep

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract Growth traits are critical economic traits in sheep. Genetic polymorphism has a great influence on the improvement of sheep traits. The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of cadherin 18 (CDH18) gene polymorphisms on growth traits in Hu sheep.

Bootstrap for estimating the mean squared error of the spatial EBLUP [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
This work assumes that the small area quantities of interest follow a Fay-Herriot model with spatially correlated random area effects. Under this model, parametric and nonparametric bootstrap procedures are proposed for estimating the mean squared ...
