In-situ strengthening mechanism of glass brazing Al2O3 ceramics joints

open access: yesHanjie xuebao
In view of the problems of poor machinability, difficult preparation of complex structure and large-size components of Al2O3 ceramics, 48.5%SiO2-48.5%B2O3-3%Na2O borosilicate glass was used to obtain reliable bonding of Al2O3 ceramic which not only had ...

Real‐time fault detection in multicomponent nuclear‐waste slurries through data fusion of spectroscopic sensors

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Three instruments–Raman spectroscopy, attenuated total reflectance–Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and focused beam reflectance measurement–were used to detect sensor faults, mixing faults, and unanticipated chemistry in a system of multicomponent slurries.

Assessing Angiogenic Properties In Vitro or In Ovo of Pre‐Crosslinked Alginate‐Dialdehyde‐Gelatin Hydrogels Incorporating Boron‐Doped Mesoporous Bioactive Glass Particles

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
This study examines the influence of boron‐doped mesoporous bioactive glass nanoparticles (MBGN) blended in cast and 3D‐printed pre‐crosslinked alginate‐dialdehyde‐gelatin (ADA‐GEL). Addition of 0.5% and 1% MBGN did not negatively affect the viability of human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs), or the sprouting of HUVEC spheroids.

Optical Properties of Borate Glass

open access: yesJournal of the Ceramic Association, Japan, 1962
Refractive indices and Abbe's numbers of borate glasses of binary and ternary systems containing the oxides of Li, Na, K, Be, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Al, La, Ti, Zr, Th, Nb, Ta, and W were measured. The relation of composition to refractive index, nD and Abbe's number (Table 1) was able to be expressed by a formula which does not contain the values of specific ...
