Density of Alkali Borate Glasses

open access: yesJournal of the Society of Materials Science, Japan, 1972
The densities of melts in the systems Li2O-B2O3, Na2O-B2O3 and K2O-B2O3 were measured by a counterbalanced sphere method in the temperature range from 850°to 1250°C. The room temperature densities of alkali borate glasses, i.e., Li2O-B2O3, Na2O-B2O3, K2O-B2O3, Rb2O-B2O3, and Cs2O-B2 glasses were also determined.

Phase‐Change Solvents for Thermally Switchable Ion Conduction in Organogels

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Organogels containing salts dissolved in phase‐change solvents exhibit thermally switchable ion conduction. The organogels, which display an over 10 000‐fold on‐off ratio and high cycling stability, can be synthesized with a wide range of salts and customizable conductivity/temperature relations for applications in ionotronics and energy storage ...

Structural Studies of CaO-B2O3-TiO2 Glass System by Raman Spectroscopy

open access: yesHigh Temperature Materials and Processes, 2011
Structure of CaO-B2O3-TiO2 glass system has been studied by Raman spectroscopy in this work. The influences of TiO2 content and molar ratio of CaO to B2O3 on the structure of CaO-B2O3-TiO2 glasses were examined.

Serotonergic System‐Targeted Nucleic Acid Hydrogel Coordinates Excitability Restoration and Circuit Reconstruction for Spinal Cord Injury Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The study reports a DNA/RNA heteroduplex hydrogel (SeroPTEN‐CG) that undergoes DNase‐mediated hydrogel‐to‐nanogel transition for spinal cord injury therapy by targeting the serotonergic system, combining 5‐hydroxytryptamine (5‐HT)‐mediated excitability restoration to reactivate dormant interneurons with phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN)‐targeted ...

Preparation and characterization of silicon free bioactive glass by queching [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Synthesis of bioactive glass that is a silicon free bioactive borate glass is achieved by the traditional method means by melt-casting. The glass was prepared by taking (40.9%) CaO-(34.9%) B2O3-(24.2%)BaO (BBCO) then by quick air quenching from 1250C to ...

Low-melting bismuth–borate glass: composition development [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The properties of low-melting lead-free glass based on the system ZnO–Bi2O3–B2O3 with K2O, Al2O3, and SiO2 additions are studied experimentally and the results are presented. The complete spreading and softening temperature ranges are determined.
