An Atmospheric Predictor to Estimate the Atmospherically Induced Water Level at Coasts With A Shallow Continental Shelf

International Journal of Climatology, Volume 45, Issue 11, September 2025.
A methodology to define an atmospheric predictor to estimate the total water level at the coast and that accounts for the storm surge generated in remote regions is presented through an application in the southern coast of Brazil. The skill of the predictor to estimate coastal variables is assessed.

Iron Catalysts with Silyl‐NHC Chelate Ligands: Controlling Factors for Hydroboration vs. Dehydrogenative Borylation of Olefins

Chemistry – An Asian Journal, Volume 20, Issue 15, August 4, 2025.
Silyl‐NHC chelate iron complexes with various substituents on NHC were synthesized and demonstrated to be active catalysts for hydroboration and dehydrogenative borylation of olefins. The selectivity of these borylation reactions is significantly controlled by the steric bulk of a substituent on the NHC nitrogen.

Abstract Changes in wave climate can impact coastal zones by altering the sediment supplied to coastal compartments via longshore sediment transport (LST). Estimating these changes is challenging, and biases and uncertainty in wave climate projections contribute to uncertainty in LST and morphological change projections.

The title compound, [Ni(C15H19BCl3N6)2] or Ni(Tp*Cl)2, adds to the list of structurally characterized bis­(tris­pyrazolyl)borate–nickel(II) complexes. The two facially coordinating N-donor Tp*Cl ligands impose pseudo-octa­hedral coordination on the nickel(II) center.

The Lewis Acidity of Bare and Crown Ether‐Complexed Germanium(II) and Tin(II) Cations

The Lewis acidity of a variety of dicationic germanium(II) and tin(II) crown ether complexes was assessed by the Gutmann‐Beckett and Fluoride Ion Affinity methods. The germanium(II) centre was found, in general, to be more Lewis acidic than the tin(II) centre. The most promising complexes for catalysis are [Ge([18]crown‐6)][OTf]2 and [Ge([12]crown‐4)2][
