A Machine Learning Model for Interpretable PECVD Deposition Rate Prediction

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
This study develops six machine learning models (k‐nearest neighbors, support vector regression, decision tree, random forest, CatBoost, and backpropagation neural network) to predict SiNx deposition rates in plasma‐enhanced chemical vapor deposition using hybrid production and simulation data.

Ecophysiological Models of Forest Stand Dynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
It is well known that woodlands play a crucial role in stabilizing the natural environment. They greatly influence and regulate hydraulic cycles, and thus the flow of waters and local humidity conditions.

Pharmacological evaluation of Adenostemma lavenia acetone extract in Swiss Albino mice: Analgesic, anti‐inflammatory, and thrombolytic insights from in vivo, in vitro, density functional theory, and molecular docking studies

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
Adenostemma lavenia, a traditionally used medicinal plant, has been employed to manage pain, inflammation, and circulatory issues. This study investigates the analgesic, anti‐inflammatory, and thrombolytic potentials of the acetone extract of A. lavenia leaves (AEAL) using in vivo, in vitro, and in silico methods.

Long-Term Record of Sampled Disturbances in Northern Eurasian Boreal Forest from Pre-2000 Landsat Data

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2014
Stand age distribution is an important descriptor of boreal forest structure, which is directly linked to many ecosystem processes including the carbon cycle, the land–atmosphere interaction and ecosystem services, among others.

Stand age and species composition effects on surface albedo in a mixedwood boreal forest [PDF]

open access: yesBiogeosciences, 2019
Surface albedo is one of the most important processes governing climate forcing in the boreal forest and is directly affected by management activities such as harvesting and natural disturbances such as forest fires.

Emission factors for open and domestic biomass burning for use in atmospheric models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Biomass burning (BB) is the second largest source of trace gases and the largest source of primary fine carbonaceous particles in the global troposphere. Many recent BB studies have provided new emission factor (EF) measurements.

Decline of the boreal willow grouse (Lagopus lagopus) has been accelerated by more frequent snow-free springs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Climate change has influenced a range of species across the globe. Yet, to state a noted decline in the abundance of a given species as a consequence of a specific environmental change, for instance, spatially explicit long-term data are a prerequisite.

Prediction of Properties of Polymer Composite Formulations Using Ensemble Models With Feature Generation

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
This study develops an interpretable machine‐learning framework to predict multiple properties of polymer composites based on composition and processing variables. By combining ensemble models with composition‐based feature generation and SHAP‐based interpretation, the approach reveals composition‐property relationships and supports efficient multi ...

Large-Scale Disturbances in Boreal Forest Dynamics: Fire, Bog and Substrate Effects [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
This literature survey summarizes the work of authors describing flooding and fire disturbances in forest ecosystems. The development of patterned or "aapa" bogs in the boreal forest is interpreted as a regional phenomenon closely related to ...
