Considerations on anomalous photon and Z-boson self-couplings from the Born–Infeld weak hypercharge action [PDF]

open access: yesThe European Physical Journal C, 2021
We investigate the effects of the Born–Infeld action on the Abelian sector of the electroweak model. The consequence of this approach is the emergence of anomalous couplings in the neutral sector of the Z-gauge boson and photon.

A Minimal b Ghost

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 71, Issue 6-7, July 2023., 2023
Abstract The b ghost, or b operator, used for fixing Siegel gauge in the pure spinor superfield formalism, is a composite operator of negative ghost number, satisfying {q,b}=□$\lbrace q,b\rbrace =\square$, where q is the pure spinor differential (BRST operator). It is traditionally constructed using non‐minimal variables.

Scientific novelty beyond the experiment

open access: yesMicrobial Biotechnology, Volume 16, Issue 6, Page 1131-1173, June 2023., 2023
Practical experiments drive important scientific discoveries in biology, but theory‐based research studies also contribute novel—sometimes paradigm‐changing—findings. Here, we appraise the roles of theory‐based approaches focusing on the experiment‐dominated wet‐biology research areas of microbiology. Theory‐based studies can transcend barriers imposed

Non‐Linear Electrodynamics in Blandford–Znajek Energy Extraction

open access: yesAnnalen der Physik, Volume 535, Issue 5, May 2023., 2023
New analysis of black hole energy extraction emphasizes that the existence and behavior of non‐linear electromagnetic phenomena strongly depends on the physical context and that only a power‐law model seems to have any chance to compete with Maxwell. Abstract Non‐linear electrodynamics (NLED) is a generalization of Maxwell's electrodynamics for strong ...

Holographic Schwinger Effect with a Rotating Probe D3‐Brane

open access: yesAdvances in High Energy Physics, Volume 2023, Issue 1, 2023., 2023
This paper, among other things, talks about possible research on the holographic Schwinger effect with a rotating probe D3‐brane. We discover that for the zero temperature case in the Schwinger effect, the faster the angular velocity and the farther the distance of the test particle pair at D3‐brane, the potential barrier of total potential energy also

Multiple solutions for asymptotically q‐linear (p, q)‐Laplacian problems

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, Volume 45, Issue 14, Page 8655-8673, 30 September 2022., 2022
We investigate the existence and the multiplicity of solutions of the problem −Δpu−Δqu=g(x,u)inΩ,u=0on∂Ω, where Ω is a smooth, bounded domain of ℝN, 1 < p < q < ∞, and the nonlinearity g behaves as uq − 1 at infinity. We use variational methods and find multiple solutions as minimax critical points of the associated energy functional.
