Solvation Engineering with 2D Laponite Nanosheets for Stable Aqueous Zinc‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
In this work, ZBL was introduced as an electrolyte additive to the ZnSO4 electrolyte to achieve more uniform Zn plating/stripping and reduce side reactions, thereby improving the reversibility of Zn anodes. This leads to enhanced cycling stability in both symmetric and full cells.

Smart Functional Hydrogels: Emerging Platforms for Thermal and Electrochemical Energy Harvesting and Conversion Systems

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
The hydrogel exhibits versatile functions, including efficient thermogalvanic conversion under a temperature difference, and acting as a cooling layer/forming a thermally conductive nanoactive composite for thermovoltaic conversion. Additionally, its self‐healing and self‐powered flexibility play a key role in energy storage systems. The growing demand

Polyimide Regulated by Molecular Engineering Exhibits Excellent High‐Temperature Energy Storage Performance

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Comprehensive performance analysis chart. Under high temperature and high electric field, the excitation and migration of electrons in polymer dielectrics are significantly accelerated, resulting in a sharp increase in conduction loss and a deterioration of breakdown performance.

A New High‐Pressure Polymorph of MgTe2O5 with a Unique Crystal Structure

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, EarlyView.
MgTe2O5 synthesized under special high‐pressure/high‐temperature conditions of 8 GPa and 800 °C exhibits a unique crystal structure consisting of fused sechser rings built from pseudooctahedral [TeO5]6– and trigonal‐pyramidal [TeO3]2– units. The single‐crystal structure and temperature‐dependent powder diffraction data are presented.

From Molecules to Materials: The Role of Halogen Bonds in Electron Donor–Acceptor Complex Mediated Organic Synthesis

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
This Concept highlights recent advances in organic synthesis based on electron donor–acceptor (EDA) complex photochemistry, with emphasis on halogen bonding. Halides play a dual role as key components of this noncovalent interaction, and as reactivity‐enabling leaving groups.

Dynamics of Heparin Translocations Through Solid‐State Nanopores

open access: yesELECTROPHORESIS, EarlyView.
Carbohydrates can be detected with solid‐state nanopores, but their kinetics of voltage‐driven passage are fast. To better understand the dynamics of passage of these biomolecules and the role of electrophoresis and electroosmosis, we studied the translocation characteristics of heparin as a function of salt concentration, pH and voltage polarity ...
