Raman Spectroscopy Of Boron Nitride Nanotubes And Boron Nitride — Carbon Composites [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 2005
Boron nitride nanotubes (BN-NT) are topological analoges to single wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNT). We analysed and refined the filling process for SWCNTs and applied it to the BN-NTs. BN-NTs were first annealed in air to open the ends and to remove BN particles. A filling procedure with C60 fullerene via vapour phase was applied.

Controlled generation of luminescent centers in hexagonal boron nitride by irradiation engineering

open access: yesScience Advances, 2021
Irradiation engineering on hexagonal boron nitride reveals insights into the microscopic nature of quantum emitters. Luminescent centers in the two-dimensional material hexagonal boron nitride have the potential to enable quantum applications at room ...

Solid-State Chemistry with Nonmetal Nitrides [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
Among the nonmetal nitrides, the polymeric binary compounds BN and Si3N4are of particular interest for the development of materials for high-performance applications. The outstanding features of both substances are their thermal, mechanical, and chemical

Nested boron nitride and carbon-boron nitride nanocones

open access: yesMicro & Nano Letters, 2007
In this letter we extend previously established results for nested carbon nanocones to both nested boron nitride and carbon-boron nitride nanocones. Based purely on mechanical principles and classical mathematical modelling techniques, we determine the energetically favourable structures for nested boron nitride and carbon-boron nitride nanocones ...

Polycrystalline boron nitride constructed from hexagonal boron nitride

open access: yesRSC Adv., 2014
Two classes of structural families of boron nitride allotropes (named as X-BNs and L-BNs) are proposed to shed light on the polycrystalline structure of high pressure h-BN.

Charge-polarized interfacial superlattices in marginally twisted hexagonal boron nitride [PDF]

open access: yesNature Communications, 2020
When two-dimensional crystals are brought into close proximity, their interaction results in reconstruction of electronic spectrum and crystal structure.

Coherent phonon transport in short-period two-dimensional superlattices of graphene and boron nitride [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Promoting coherent transport of phonons at material interfaces is a promising strategy for controlling thermal transport in nanostructures and an alternative to traditional methods based on structural defects.

A quantum coherent spin in hexagonal boron nitride at ambient conditions

open access: yesNature Materials
Solid-state spin–photon interfaces that combine single-photon generation and long-lived spin coherence with scalable device integration—ideally under ambient conditions—hold great promise for the implementation of quantum networks and sensors.
