High Charge Carrier Mobility in Non‐Conjugated 3D Covalent Organic Frameworks

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A non‐conjugated 3D COF constructed via boronate ester linkages from tetraphenylene and pyrene‐based monomers is reported, which exhibits a high charge carrier mobility of 14 ± 1 cm2 V−1 s−1. ABSTRACT π‐Conjugation, π–π stacking, and long‐range order play a central role in determining charge transport efficiency in organic materials.

Effects of boronizing process on the surface roughness and dimensions of AISI 1020, AISI 1040 and AISI 2714

open access: yes
In this study, the effects of boronizing treatment on material's dimensional changes and surface roughness were investigated. The parameters chosen were substrate material composition, surface roughness before boronizing treatment, and boronizing time ...

Topology and Material Optimization in Ultra‐Soft Magneto‐Active Structures: Making Advantage of Residual Anisotropies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Residual magnetization induces pronounced mechanical anisotropy in ultra‐soft magnetorheological elastomers, shaping deformation and actuation even without external magnetic fields. This study introduces a computational‐experimental framework integrating magneto‐mechanical coupling into topology optimization for designing soft magnetic actuators with ...

Effect of post-boronizing heat treatment on wear behaviour and pit formation in AISI-8620 gear steel

open access: yes, 2007
In this study the effect of post-boronizing heat treatment on wear behaviour and pit formation on a starter motor pinion gear, made from AISI-8620 steel, was investigated. This involved using a rotary wear test, where the number of cycles at a fixed load

Digital Microneedles for Multiplexed Transdermal Sensing via Fluorescent QR Codes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Digital fluorescent microneedles encode biochemical information in skin into scannable QR codes through threshold‐activated probes that generate binary on/off signals. By transforming analog fluorescence into discrete digital patterns, this platform enables calibration‐free, multiplexed transdermal sensing of physiologically relevant biomarkers ...

Pack boronizing of AISI H11 tool steel: Role of surface mechanical attrition treatment

open access: yes, 2013
The role of surface mechanical attrition treatment (SMAT) on pack boronizing of AISI H11 type tool steel is addressed. SMAT induced plastic deformation, enabled nanocrystallization at the surface, reduced the grain size and increased the volume fraction ...

Signatures of Edge States in Antiferromagnetic Van der Waals Josephson Junctions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The combination of superconductivity and magnetic textures leads to unconventional superconducting phenomena, including new correlated and topological phases. Van der Waals (vdW) materials emerge as a versatile platform for exploring the interplay between these two competing orders.

Boronizing of iron based P/M materials; [Demir esasli T/M malzemelerin borlanmasi]

open access: yes, 2002
Iron based machine parts produced by powder metallurgy become widespread in industry. Since these parts are produced from low carbon iron powders, they are used generally in sintered form without a heat treatment.
