Kinetics of borosilicate glass deposition
Journal of Materials Research, 2004The kinetics of borosilicate glass film deposition on silicon using boron nitride as a solid source was investigated. Experimental data on the thickness of deposited films as a function of temperature and process times under controlled atmospheric conditions was obtained.

Vaporization of alkali borosilicate glasses
Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids, 1989Abstract The vaporization behavior of glasses in the R 2 O·B 2 O 3 ·3SiO 2 , Na 2 O·0.15R′ 2 O·B 2 O 3 ·3SiO 2 and 0.85Na 2 O·0.15R′ 2 O·B 2 O 3 ·3SiO 2 systems has been studied by a mass-spectrometric Knudsen effusion method in the temperature range 806–1172 K. Here, R is an alkali metal and R′ an alkali metal other than Na. Vapor species of RBO 2

Capabilities and Limits to Form High Aspect-Ratio Microstructures by Molding of Borosilicate Glass
Journal of microelectromechanical systems, 2019This paper presents an experimental study of capabilities to fabricate high aspect-ratio microstructures in glass. The fabrication was done by molding borosilicate glass in deep silicon trenches created by deep reactive ion etching in silicon and ...

Actinide Valences in Borosilicate Glass
Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 1982Optical and Mössbauer spectra show that actinide ions are incorporated in a borosilicate glass matrix as U(VI), Np(IV), P(IV), and Am(III). Uranium was reduced by graphite to U(V) and U(IV), but Pu(IV) remained unchanged. It is inferred from their valences that Np, Pu, and Am are part of the borosilicate network and U is probably a network‐modifier.

XPS studies of iron sodium borosilicate glasses
Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids, 1987X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and x-ray induced Auger electron spectroscopy have been used to study borosilicate glasses of various iron oxide contents. The iron is present as both Fe(II) and Fe(III) ions, and its distribution between the two oxidation states appears to be constant throughout the series of samples.

A new study has been made of the well-known sodium borosilicate glass system to improve the overall and detailed understanding of both the atomic level structures in these glasses and the correlation of these structures to their physical properties.
