Morphology and elemental behavior of borosilicate glass after γ-irradiation and corrosion

open access: yesFushe yanjiu yu fushe gongyi xuebao
Borosilicate glass is currently the best comprehensive solidified material for deep disposal of high-level radioactive waste. The stability of borosilicate glass under irradiation is an important factor affecting the leakage of radioactive isotopes into ...

Supraparticles Composed of Graphitic Carbon Nitride Nanoparticles and Silica‐Supported Horseradish Peroxidase as Customizable Hybrid Catalysts for Photo‐Biocatalytic Cascade Reactions in Continuous Flow

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Herein presented supraparticles combine the nanoparticulate photocatalyst graphitic carbon nitride with the enzyme horseradish peroxidase, which is immobilized on silica nanoparticles. In an optimized compatibility range, both catalysts operate effectively within the hybrid supraparticles and catalyze a cascade reaction consisting of the photocatalytic

Lanthanide (Ce, Nd, Eu) environments and leaching behavior in borosilicate glasses

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
Borosilicate glasses will be used to stabilize the high-level radioactive wastes for disposal in a geological repository. Understanding the effects of actinide addition to a borosilicate glass matrix is of great importance in view of waste immobilization.

GeAl2‐2xFe2xO3(OH)4 Nanotubes: New Electrocatalyst for Oxygen Evolution Reaction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Fe‐doped imogolite nanotubes are synthesized via a one‐step hydrothermal method with varying Fe substitution ratios x. Structural and spectroscopic analyses confirm homogeneous Fe incorporation while preserving tubular shape. Optimal doping at x = 0.05 enhances optical absorption, narrows band gap, reduces charge transfer resistance, and significantly ...

Dual‐Functional Li2B4O7 Coating on Carbon Fibers for Enhanced Li+ Transport and Stability in Sulfide All‐Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A dual‐functional Li2B4O7 coating on carbon fibers is designed to resolve the critical interfacial degradation in sulfide all‐solid‐state batteries. The conformal layer acts as a physical barrier to suppress parasitic reactions while its unique dielectric properties simultaneously facilitate Li+ transport.

Coagulative Granular Hydrogels with an Enzyme Catalyzed Fibrin Network for Endogenous Tissue Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Coagulative granular hydrogels are composed of packed thrombin‐functionalized microgels that catalyze the conversion of fibrinogen into a secondary fibrin network, filling the interstitial voids. This bio‐inspired approach stabilizes the biomaterial to match the robustness of bulk hydrogels without compromising injectability, mimicking the initial ...
