Rotating binary Bose-Einstein condensates and vortex clusters in quantum droplets

open access: yes, 2019
Quantum droplets may form out of a gaseous Bose-Einstein condensate, stabilized by quantum fluctuations beyond mean field. We show that multiple singly-quantized vortices may form in these droplets at moderate angular momenta in two dimensions.

Reentrant transition of bosons in a quasiperiodic potential

open access: yes, 2010
We investigate the behavior of a two dimensional array of Bose-Einstein condensate tubes described by means of a Bose-Hubbard Hamiltonian. Using a Wannier function expansion for the wavefunction in each tube, we compute the Bose-Hubbard parameters ...

Probing the hollowing transition of a shell-shaped Bose-Einstein condensate with collective excitation

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
We investigate the hollowing transition of a shell-shaped Bose-Einstein condensate using collective excitations. The shell is created using an immiscible dual-species Bose-Einstein condensate mixture, with its hollowness controlled by tuning the ...

ON THE VORTEX STRUCTURE IN TWO COMPONENT BOSE-EINSTEIN CONDENSATE

open access: yesEast European Journal of Physics, 2014
The vortex structure in a space-homogeneous Bose-Einstein condensate of two particle species with different masses has been studied. It is shown that the vortex structure in the two-component condensate is described by three dimensionless parameters ...
