Particle number fluctuations in a non-ideal pion gas

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
We consider a non-ideal hot pion gas with the dynamically fixed number of particles in the model with the λφ4 interaction. The effective Lagrangian for the description of such a system is obtained by dropping the terms responsible for the change of the ...

The excitation spectrum of a Bose-Einstein condensate [PDF]

open access: yes2002 Summaries of Papers Presented at the Quantum Electronics and Laser Science Conference, 2002
We report the first measurement of the excitation spectrum and the static structure factor of a Bose-Einstein condensate. The excitation spectrum displays a linear phonon regime, as well as a parabolic single-particle regime. The linear regime provides an upper limit for the superfluid critical velocity, by the Landau criterion. The excitation spectrum

Self‐Hybridized Exciton‐Polariton Photodetectors From Layered Metal‐Organic Chalcogenolates

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 34, 27 April 2026.
Self‐hybridized exciton‐polariton photodetectors are demonstrated using high refractive index mithrene, eliminating the need for top mirrors. This simplified architecture enables tunable sub‐bandgap photodetection via lower exciton‐polariton states and enhanced carrier transport through ultrafast polariton group velocities.

Casimir Force between Two Vortices in a Turbulent Bose–Einstein Condensate

open access: yes, 2020
We consider the Casimir force between two vortices due to the presence of density fluctuations induced by turbulent modes in a Bose–Einstein condensate. We discuss the cases of unbounded and finite condensates.

Generation of Anisotropic Second‐Harmonic Petal‐Like Beams with NbOBr2 Holograms

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, Volume 7, Issue 4, April 2026.
Highly anisotropic second‐harmonic petal‐like beams with different combinations of the topological charges of vortex beams are produced using ultrathin NbOBr2 holograms. These demonstrations provide a pathway toward the development of chip‐scale polarization‐sensitive functional optical devices for many applications.

Born-Kothari Condensation for Fermions

open access: yesEntropy, 2017
In the spirit of Bose–Einstein condensation, we present a detailed account of the statistical description of the condensation phenomena for a Fermi–Dirac gas following the works of Born and Kothari.

Long‐Range Exciton Energy Transfer in Two‐Dimensional Materials

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, Volume 20, Issue 8, 17 April 2026.
This review highlights recent advances in long‐range exciton energy transfer within planar 2D‐material architectures. It emphasizes the emergence of self‐hybridized excitonpolaritons, exciton coupling to surface plasmon polaritons and plasmonic lattices, and the role of dipoledipole transfer pathways in enabling efficient nanoscale energy transport ...

Bose-Einstein Condensation and Superfluidity in 3D and 2D bosons [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
The refinement and the combination of laser cooling and evaporative cooling in dilute systems of alkali atoms lead to the achievement of Bose-Einstein condensation in 1995.
