Scalable Laser Processing Enables Transparent, Accretion Scale‐Independent, Ice‐Shedding Glass
We demonstrate a scalable laser‐based method to create wave‐like micro‐patterns on glass surfaces that counter the conventional view that roughness increases ice adhesion. These patterns direct crack propagation at the ice–glass interface, enabling low‐force, multi‐directional ice detachment while maintaining substrate transparency. A theoretical model

The development of polarization‐sensitive ultraviolet photodetectors is limited by poor heterojunction quality and low polarization sensitivity. This study integrates synthesized CsAg2I3 single crystals with intrinsic non‐centrosymmetry into van der Waals heterojunction devices, demonstrating pronounced pyro‐phototronic effect.

Task Scheduling on the Cloud with Hard Constraints
Scheduling Bag-of-Tasks (BoT) applications on the cloud can be more challenging than grid and cluster environ- ments. This is because a user may have a budgetary constraint or a deadline for executing the BoT application in order to keep the overall ...

Rigid‐Flexible Coupling Units Enable Robust Large Birefringence
A rigid–flexible coupling strategy, combining flexible (S3)2− linear units with rigid (VO4)3− tetrahedra, yields Sr4(VO4)2S3—a robust crystal exhibiting large birefringence (Δn = 0.52@550 nm) and remarkable thermal, air, and water stability. ABSTRACT Birefringent crystals are central to polarization control in laser technologies (e.g., wave plates and ...

Reforming the BOT Law: A Call of the Times [PDF]
Recent controversies about certain government infrastructure projects, especially those agreed upon under the framework of the build-operate-transfer (BOT) scheme, further raise the need to address various issues relating to both the legal and ...

Impedance‐Matched High‐Overtone Thickness‐Shear Bulk Acoustic Resonators With Scalable Mode Volume
A bottom‐electrode‐free high‐overtone bulk acoustic resonator is achieved by lateral excitation of antisymmetric thickness‐shear modes on a lithium‐niobate‐on‐silicon platform. Planar electrode geometry eliminates conventional loading along the resonance path and confines acoustic energy within the electrode gap.

You Are a Bot! – Studying the Development of Bot Accusations on Twitter
The characterization and detection of bots with their presumed ability to manipulate society on social media platforms have been subject to many research endeavors over the last decade. In the absence of ground truth data (i.e., accounts that are labeled as bots by experts or self-declare their automated nature), researchers interested in the ...

Physics‐Based Compact Modeling of Advanced 3D Nanoscale Vertical NAND Flash Memory
For advanced 3D NAND flash memory, a unified compact model for SPICE is proposed that spans from the intrinsic unit cell to the full string and captures the electrostatic coupling with adjacent inhibit strings. It can successfully predict read behavior, program/erase dynamics, and interactions between neighboring cells, reflecting array‐level behavior ...
