A NEW SPECIES OF BOTHRIURUS FROM BRAZIL (SCORPIONES, BOTHRIURIDAE)

open access: yesJournal of Arachnology, 2005
A new species of scorpion from southern Brazil, Bothriurus pora, is described. The hem- ispermatophore of this species is unique within the genus, displaying a highly developed and extremely complex capsular region. External morphology and shape of the sperm packages show a close relationship with the Bothriurus bonariensis species group. RESUMEN.

Morphometry and geographical variation of Bothriurus bonariensis (Scorpiones: Bothriuridae)

open access: yesJournal of Arachnology, 2012
Diversification of morphological characteristics among geographically separated populations is particularly important in understanding evolutionary processes and is considered the early stage of allopatric speciation. In the present study, we investigated geographic variation in scorpion populations of Bothriurus bonariensis (Koch 1842).

Phylogenetic analysis of the scorpion genusBrachistosternus(Arachnida, Scorpiones, Bothriuridae)

open access: yesZoologica Scripta, 2009
A phylogenetic analysis of the scorpion genusBrachistosternusPocock (Bothriuridae) is presented. The analysis is based on a data set including 38 of the 41 described species ofBrachistosternusplus eight outgroup representatives of seven additional bothriurid genera and one buthid, scored for 116 morphological characters.
