Isolating T‐Cell Potent Lentiviral Vector Subpopulations through Rational Design of Nanofiber Anion‐Exchange Adsorbents

open access: yesBiotechnology and Bioengineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Generation of CAR‐T cell therapies relies predominantly on lentiviral vectors (LVs). As in vivo CAR‐T trials progress, demand for larger quantities of higher‐potency LV is expected. However, primary capture by anion‐exchange chromatography (AIEX) remains a major manufacturing bottleneck from use of adsorbents not tailored to LVs, leading to ...

Stakeholder Engagement as a Design Principle: Orchestrating a Digital Platform for the Safety and Sustainability of the Nanomaterials Sector

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The governance of chemicals and nanomaterials presents a critical challenge, as significant uncertainties regarding safety and sustainability match their innovation potential. This creates a “knowledge‐to‐action” gap, hindering the practical implementation of safety and sustainability by design (SSbD) principles.

AI Chatbots Versus Human Agents for Customer Service: A Social Belonging Perspective

open access: yesJournal of Consumer Behaviour, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Artificial intelligence (AI) has rapidly transformed customer service, leading to the widespread adoption of AI‐driven chatbots. Despite these advances, consumers consistently prefer human agents over AI chatbots, as documented in both academic research and industry reports. This research proposes a Social Belonging Perspective to explain this

Mitigating Chatbot Service Failures: The Roles of Anthropomorphism, Acknowledgment, and Apology

open access: yesJournal of Consumer Behaviour, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study examines how chatbot anthropomorphism shapes consumer responses to service failure by distinguishing between process failure and outcome failure and by testing alternative recovery responses. Across three pretests (N = 30, 120 and 240) and two scenario‐based experiments (Study 1: N = 346; Study 2: N = 778), consumers evaluated ...

The Role of RPA and Data Analysis in the Transformation of the Insurance and Banking Industries

open access: yesEncyclopedia
Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is a software-based technology that uses configurable algorithmic software agents (bots) to replicate manual user activities across digital systems. It represents an evolution from earlier workflow scripting tools, and is

Categorizing and Discovering Social Bots

open access: yes, 2015
: Bots tamper with social media networks by artificially inflating the popularity of certain topics. In this paper, we define what a bot is, we detail different motivations for bots, we describe previous work in bot detection and observation, and then we

Durable Fuel Cell Cathode Enabled by Pt Embedded Nanoscale Carbon Network via a Scalable Process

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
Platinum nanoparticles embedded nanoscale carbon network (Pt‐e‐Cn) are developed via a scalable flame spray pyrolysis process. Proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFC) employing mesoporous Pt‐e‐Cn cathode electrocatalysts exhibit exceptional durability without compromising performance.

Heterovalent, Homometallic Rings: Synthesis, Optical, and EPR Studies of {TiIV7TiIII} Complexes

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
A new class of heterovalent, homometallic complexes is reported, based on cyclic {TiIV7TiIII} cores with oxide and carboxylate bridges between nearest neighbors. The clusters show Class II mixed‐valent behavior at room temperature, but are valence localized at low temperature.

Distinguishing Bots from Human Callers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Telephone users frequently receive unwanted calls from sales, advertising, or spam callers. Such calls may be made by automated agents or bots of such sophistication that they are often difficult to distinguish from human callers.
