SummaryThis investigation showed that in a series of 34 non‐infected bottle‐fed infants between the ages of 3 weeks and 6 months, the bifidum count varied between < 100 million and 30 000 million, the mean value being 4 000 million per gramme. Seventy five per cent of the values were lower than 10 000 million per gramme.
