Artificial Ageing of Bottom Ashes
2009 Asia-Pacific Power and Energy Engineering Conference, 2009Artificial ageing of incineration bottom ashes with saturated air was investigated in this paper. The process could reduce the pH of bottom ashes below 10 within one month. This result can be used to design bottom ashes heap to accelerate the curing process of bottom ashes and reduce the storage time of bottom ash in incinerators.

Bottom Ash: An Engineering Material
Journal of the Soil Mechanics and Foundations Division, 1972THE PROPERTIES AND USES OF BOTTOM ASH, A BY-PRODUCT FROM BURNING COAL IN POWER PLANTS, ARE DISCUSSED. SELECTED SAMPLES OF BOTTOM ASH FROM THE STATE OF WEST VIRGINIA AND THE SURROUNDING AREA WERE SUBJECTED TO ENGINEERING IDENTIFICATION, CLASSIFICATION, AND PROPERTY TESTS.

Incineration Bottom Ash (IBA) Processing
2023With this document, Blue Phoenix summarizes its expertise in Incinerator Bottom Ash (IBA) Processing. Blue Phoenix wishes to stress the importance of responsible residue ash management and the need for high end processing to maximize metals recovery and being able to reuse the mineral aggregates as construction aggregates to prevent them from the need ...

Toxicity of waste gasification bottom ash leachate
Waste Management, 2012Toxicity of waste gasification bottom ash leachate from landfill lysimeters (112 m(3)) was studied over three years. The leachate of grate incineration bottom ash from a parallel setup was used as reference material. Three aquatic organisms (bioluminescent bacteria, green algae and water flea) were used to study acute toxicity.

Behaviour of cement-treated MSWI bottom ash
Waste Management, 2000MSWI bottom ash is the residue of combustion. The use of bottom ash in road construction is wide spread. French legislation forbids the disposal of resuable waste in special landfill from 2002. Moreover, "arrêté du 9 mai 1994" provides environmental criteria (leaching threshold, etc.), and evaluates this material according to utilisation in road ...

Diopside-based glass-ceramics from MSW fly ash and bottom ash
Waste Management, 2006By utilising MSW fly ash from the Shanghai Yuqiao municipal solid waste (MSW) incineration plant as the main raw material, diopside-based glass-ceramics were successfully synthesized in the laboratory by combining SiO(2), MgO and Al(2)O(3) or bottom ash as conditioner of the chemical compositions and TiO(2) as the nucleation agent.

2011 IEEE Symposium on Business, Engineering and Industrial Applications (ISBEIA), 2011
This paper presents the comparison physical study of solid waste of Bottom Ash Aggregate (BAA) and Washed Bottom Ash Aggregate (WBAA) as fine aggregate in concrete. The BAA is a waste material that is taken from electric coal power plant and the basic source material of WBAA is a treated bottom ash.

Bottom Ash as Embankment Material
1990The physical and chemical characteristics and engineering properties of power plant bottom ash, a byproduct produced from the combustion of coal, are presented. Laboratory studies included evaluation of chemical and index properties, permeability, compaction, shear strength, and compressibility.

The Amsterdam pilot on bottom ash
Minerals Engineering, 2004In the summer of 2002, an experimental wet process was tested on 116 tons of bottom ash from the Amsterdam MSWI. The aim of the pilot was to demonstrate the feasibility of combining a washing step for improving the environmental quality of the ash with extensive metals recovery to meet the cost of the treatment.

Incinerator bottom ash (IBA) aerated geopolymer
Construction and Building Materials, 2016Abstract With extremely low density and thermal conductivity, aerated concrete is an ideal material for thermal insulation and sound-proofing. The introduction of gas in aerated concrete is achieved usually by the use of finely divided aluminum powder.
