ICT from the Bottom of the Pyramid: Design and/or De-Construction? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
This paper reflects and calls for action on the possibility of using Information and Communication Technologies at the Bottom of the Pyramid by turning the pyramid into a diamond of knowledge creation and knowledge sharing. It tries to show what is at the heart of the challenges that C.K.

Optical Detection and Modeling of Lithium Deposition on Copper Current Collectors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Understanding lithium (Li) deposition on copper (Cu) substrates is essential for improving the performance and lifetime of zero–excess lithium metal batteries. In this study, Li deposition was investigated under realistic coin–cell conditions using complementary scanning electron microscopy and laser scanning microscopy. A semi–automatic image

The influence of the tamped out foundation on the calculable strength of the footing base/Plūktinio pamato formos įtaka pado pagrindo skaičiuojamajam stiprumui

open access: yesJournal of Civil Engineering and Management, 2001
Foundations, erected in the tamped out trenches, are distinguished for a greater bearing capacity of the base in comparison with the foundations which are erected in the dug out trenches. They are also economic in respect of energy and material.

Hydrogel‐Based 3D‐Printable Stretchable Pressure Sensor

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
We present a carbon‐black‐functionalized double‐network granular hydrogel (DNGH) pressure sensor capable of detecting pressures from 200 Pa, equivalent to a light finger touch, up to 500 kPa. The sensor exhibits signal drifts below 3.5% after 800 cycles and response times around 80 ms. Leveraging this broad sensing range, we 3D print this material into
