A Critical Occluding Tension Phase Transition Occurs Between 30% and 40% 1RM in Dynamic Knee Extension Exercise

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Medicine &Science in Sports, Volume 35, Issue 6, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Oxygen delivery and utilization to working muscle(s) are essential for sustained exercise performance. Higher contractile loads can occlude intramuscular blood vessels, limiting oxygen perfusion, while lighter loads minimize occlusion and allow perfusion.

Electroweak Symmetry Breaking and Bottom-Top Yukawa Unification

open access: yes, 1994
The condition of unification of gauge couplings in the minimal supersymmetric standard model provides successful predictions for the weak mixing angle as a function of the strong gauge coupling and the supersymmetric threshold scale. In addition, in some

Effect of incineration, co‐incineration and combustion on TSE hazards in category 1 animal by‐products

open access: yesEFSA Journal, Volume 23, Issue 5, May 2025.
Abstract The European Commission requested EFSA to assess the effect of incineration, co‐incineration and combustion of Category 1 animal by‐products (ABP) on the BSE/TSE hazards in ash resulting from these treatments. The presence of residual TSE hazards is assessed by detection of prion infectivity or seeding activity.

Vector-like quark interpretation of excess in Higgs signal strength

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2019
There is a +2σ deviation in the average Higgs-signal strength for all the 7+8+13 TeV data up to Summer 2018. We find that a slight reduction of the bottom-Yukawa coupling can fit the data better than the standard model.

Heavy-light meson spectrum with and without NRQCD

open access: yes, 2000
Results for the spectrum of S and P-wave charmed mesons are obtained in the quenched approximation from a tadpole-improved anisotropic gauge field action and a D234 quark action.

Search for charged Higgs bosons decaying into a top quark and a bottom quark at s $$ \sqrt{\mathrm{s}} $$ = 13 TeV with the ATLAS detector

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
A search for charged Higgs bosons decaying into a top quark and a bottom quark is presented. The data analysed correspond to 139 fb −1 of proton-proton collisions at s $$ \sqrt{s} $$ = 13 TeV, recorded with the ATLAS detector at the LHC.

An Interview With Peter Rousseeuw

open access: yesInternational Statistical Review, Volume 93, Issue 1, Page 1-17, April 2025.
Summary Peter J. Rousseeuw is a statistician known mainly for his work on robust statistics and cluster analysis. Among his creations are least trimmed squares regression, the minimum covariance determinant estimator, the partitioning around medoids clustering method and the silhouettes graphical display.

Exploring Dark Photon Production and Kinetic Mixing Constraints in Heavy‐Ion Collisions

open access: yesAstronomische Nachrichten, Volume 346, Issue 3-4, March-May 2025.
ABSTRACT Vector U‐bosons, often referred to as “dark photons,” are potential candidates for mediating dark matter interactions. In this study, we outline a procedure to derive theoretical constraints on the upper bound of the kinetic mixing parameter ϵ2MU$$ {\upvarepsilon}^2\left({M}_U\right) $$ using dilepton data from heavy‐ion from SIS to RHIC ...

Measurements of the bottom quark mass [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
I will review new measurements of the b quark mass, presented at this conference by ALEPH and DELPHI. A large set of observables has been used and detailed studies on jet algorithms have been performed.

Searching for Charged Higgs Boson in Polarized Top Quark

open access: yes, 2013
The charged Higgs boson is quite common in many new physics models. In this study we examine the potential of observing a heavy charged Higgs boson in its decay mode of top-quark and bottom-quark in the Type-II Two-Higgs-Doublet-Model. In this model, the
