Parion, located on the Anatolian coast of the Dardanelles within the present villages of Kemer, Biga and Canakkale, has often been considered a Troas city, surrounded by large urban centers such as Priapos, Lampsakos and Skepsis. According to tradition, Parion was founded by immigrants from Erythrai, Miletos and Paros in 709 B. C.
