Nonlinear Schrodinger equations on the half-line with nonlinear boundary conditions
In this article, we study the initial boundary value problem for nonlinear Schrodinger equations on the half-line with nonlinear boundary conditions $$ u_x(0,t)+\lambda|u(0,t)|^ru(0,t)=0,\quad \lambda\in\mathbb{R}-\{0\},\; r> 0.

Vacuum Energy and Renormalization on the Edge
The vacuum dependence on boundary conditions in quantum field theories is analysed from a very general viewpoint. From this perspective the renormalization prescriptions not only imply the renormalization of the couplings of the theory in the bulk but ...

Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Positive solutions to a third order nonlocal boundary value problem with a parameter [PDF]
We present some sufficient conditions for the existence of positive solutions to a third order differential equation subject to nonlocal boundary conditions.

We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

Thin waveguides with Robin boundary conditions
We consider the Laplace operator in a thin three dimensional tube with a Robin type condition on its boundary and study, asymptotically, the spectrum of such operator as the diameter of the tube's cross section becomes infinitesimal. In contrast with the

Investigation of matrix nullity for the second order discrete nonlocal boundary value problem
In this paper we investigate the relation between the matrix nullity of the second order discrete boundary value problem and nonlocal boundary conditions. The obtained classification and examples are also presented.

Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Time-symmetric boundary conditions and quantum foundations
Despite the widely-held premise that initial boundary conditions (BCs) corresponding to measurements/interactions can fully specify a physical subsystem, a literal reading of Hamilton's principle would imply that both initial and final BCs are required ...
