Fractional-order boundary value problem with Sturm-Liouville boundary conditions

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2015
Using the new conformable fractional derivative, which differs from the Riemann-Liouville and Caputo fractional derivatives, we reformulate the second-order conjugate boundary value problem in this new setting.

Boundary conditions and the entropy bound

open access: yes, 2000
The entropy-to-energy bound is examined for a quantum scalar field confined to a cavity and satisfying Robin condition on the boundary of the cavity. It is found that near certain points in the space of the parameter defining the boundary condition the ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Quantum detection of boundary conditions

open access: yesPhysics Letters B
The quantum detection of spacetime conicity was investigated in reference Cong et al. (2021) [9] through the analysis of the response function of an Unruh-deWitt detector coupled to a massless scalar field.

Conjugate boundary value problems with functional boundary conditions at resonance

open access: yesBoundary Value Problems, 2019
By constructing a suitable projection scheme and using the coincidence degree theory of Mawhin, we study the existence of solutions for conjugate boundary value problems with functional boundary conditions at resonance with dimKerL=1 $\operatorname{dim ...

Boundary conditions: The path integral approach

open access: yes, 2007
The path integral approach to quantum mechanics requires a substantial generalisation to describe the dynamics of systems confined to bounded domains. Non-local boundary conditions can be introduced in Feynman's approach by means of boundary amplitude ...

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Nonlocal problems for hyperbolic equations from the viewpoint of strongly regular boundary conditions

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2020
In this article, we consider a nonlocal problem for hyperbolic equation with integral conditions and show their close connection with the notion of strongly regular boundary conditions.

Boundary conditions in random sequential adsorption

open access: yes, 2017
The influence of different boundary conditions on the density of random packings of disks is studied. Packings are generated using the random sequential adsorption algorithm with three different types of boundary conditions: periodic, open, and wall.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.
