Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Positive solutions of nonlinear fourth-order boundary-value problems with local and non-local boundary conditions [PDF]
We establish new existence results for multiple positive solutions of fourth-order nonlinear equations which model deflections of an elastic beam. We consider the widely studied boundary conditions corresponding to clamped and hinged ends and many non ...

Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

An initial stability of Kirchhoff plates supported on boundary and resting on internal supports is analysed in this paper. The internal supports are understood to be part of a plate surface or a line belonging to the plate.

Electromagnetic Scattering Analysis of SHDB Objects Using Surface Integral Equation Method
A surface integral equation (SIE) method is applied in order to analyze electromagnetic scattering by bounded arbitrarily shaped three-dimensional objects with the SHDB boundary condition.

Boundary Integral Solutions of the Heat Equation [PDF]
The Boundary Integral Method (BIM) has recently become quite popular because of its ability to provide cheap numerical solutions to the Laplace equation. This paper describes an attempt to apply a similar approach to the (time-dependent) heat equation in two space variables.

Localized boundary-domain integral equation formulation for mixed type problems
Copyright @ 2010 Walter de Gruyter GmbHSome modified direct localized boundary-domain integral equations (LBDIEs) systems associated with the mixed boundary value problem (BVP) for a scalar “Laplace” PDE with variable coefficient are formulated and ...

This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.
