Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Positive solutions of nonlinear fourth-order boundary-value problems with local and non-local boundary conditions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We establish new existence results for multiple positive solutions of fourth-order nonlinear equations which model deflections of an elastic beam. We consider the widely studied boundary conditions corresponding to clamped and hinged ends and many non ...

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

An Alternative Approach to Initial Stability Analysis of Kirchhoff Plates Resting on Internal Supports by the Boundary Element Method

open access: yesEngineering Transactions, 2015
An initial stability of Kirchhoff plates supported on boundary and resting on internal supports is analysed in this paper. The internal supports are understood to be part of a plate surface or a line belonging to the plate.

Electromagnetic Scattering Analysis of SHDB Objects Using Surface Integral Equation Method

open access: yesPhotonics, 2020
A surface integral equation (SIE) method is applied in order to analyze electromagnetic scattering by bounded arbitrarily shaped three-dimensional objects with the SHDB boundary condition.

Boundary Integral Solutions of the Heat Equation [PDF]

open access: yesMathematics of Computation, 1986
The Boundary Integral Method (BIM) has recently become quite popular because of its ability to provide cheap numerical solutions to the Laplace equation. This paper describes an attempt to apply a similar approach to the (time-dependent) heat equation in two space variables.

Localized boundary-domain integral equation formulation for mixed type problems

open access: yes, 2010
Copyright @ 2010 Walter de Gruyter GmbHSome modified direct localized boundary-domain integral equations (LBDIEs) systems associated with the mixed boundary value problem (BVP) for a scalar “Laplace” PDE with variable coefficient are formulated and ...

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

On the boundary integral equation method of solving boundary value problems for the two dimensional Laplace equation

open access: yesМатематичні Студії
We consider approach based on the integral representation of solutions in domain which consists of bounded and unbounded parts that gives us opportunity to reduce different transmission type problems to connected with them equivalent boundary equations ...

The Optimization of the Approximate Method of the Solution of Linear Boundary Value Problems for Volterra Integrodifferential Equations with Functional Delays

open access: yesИзвестия Иркутского государственного университета: Серия "Математика", 2017
This article studies the possibility of approximate solution of resolving equations for boundary value problems of Volterra linear integer differential equations with functional delays.
