Advances in Unsteady Boundary Layer Transition Research, Part II: Experimental Verification

open access: yesInternational Journal of Rotating Machinery, 2003
This two-part article presents recent advances in boundary layer research into the unsteady boundary layer transition modeling and its validation. This, Part II, deals with the results of an inductive approach based on comprehensive experimental and ...

INFLUENCE OF LIMITING WALLS ON SHOCK WAVE STRUCTURE IN SINGLE PASSAGE TEST SECTION WITH COMPRESSOR PROFILE

open access: yesTASK Quarterly, 2015
The shock wave boundary layer interaction on the suction side of a transonic compressor blade is one of the main objectives of the TFAST project (Transition Location Effect on Shock Wave Boundary Layer Interaction).

Divergent channel flow of Casson fluid and heat transfer with suction/blowing and viscous dissipation: Existence of boundary layer

open access: yesPartial Differential Equations in Applied Mathematics, 2021
The boundary layer existence in divergent porous channel of non-Newtonian Casson fluid with heat transfer in presence of suction/blowing and viscous dissipation is studied.

On Reflection of Shock Waves from Boundary Layers [PDF]

open access: yes, 1952
Measurements of the reflection characteristics of shock waves from a flat surface with a laminar and turbulent boundary layer are presented. The investigations were carried out at Mach numbers from about 1.3 to 1.5 and a Reynolds number of 0.9 x 10^4.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Spectral Entropy in a Boundary-Layer Flow

open access: yesEntropy, 2011
This article presents a comparison of the entropy production in a laminar and transitional boundary layer flow with the spectral entropy produced in a region of instability induced by an imposed periodic disturbance.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Boundary layer stagnation point flow and heat transfer over an exponentially stretching sheet using Taylor wavelet method

open access: yesApplied Mathematics in Science and Engineering
This study investigates boundary layer stagnation-point flow and heat transfer over an exponentially stretching/shrinking sheet embedded in a porous medium, with emphasis on the effects of suction, blowing, thermal radiation, and heat generation.

Spectral Relaxation Method and Spectral Quasilinearization Method for Solving Unsteady Boundary Layer Flow Problems

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematical Physics, 2014
Nonlinear partial differential equations (PDEs) modelling unsteady boundary-layer flows are solved by the spectral relaxation method (SRM) and the spectral quasilinearization method (SQLM). The SRM and SQLM are Chebyshev pseudospectral based methods that

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...
