Advancing Wildfire‐Retardant Materials: Engineering Strategies for Direct and Indirect Suppression

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Here, the evolution, ecological impact, and performance of current fire‐retardant materials and suppression strategies are reviewed, offering an engineering perspective to address existing challenges and propose pathways for the development of more effective, scalable, and sustainable solutions to meet the demands of a changing climate. Wildfires cause

Positive solutions of a boundary value problem for a nonlinear fractional differential equation.

open access: yes, 2008
In this paper we give sufficient conditions for the existence of at least one and at least three positive solutions to the nonlinear fractional boundary value problem Du + a(t)f(u) = 0, 0 < t < 1,1 < 2,

Mitigation of Cracks in High‐Performance Nickel‐Based Superalloys in Powder Bed Fusion Laser Beam of Metals Using a Metal Matrix Composite Approach

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
High‐performance nickel‐based superalloys are often not processible in additive manufacturing (AM) due to hot cracking. The findings in this manuscript propose an efficient method to mitigate cracking and enhance mechanical properties of these alloys by producing a metal matrix composite, contributing to the material and process perspective of the AM ...

A Boundary Value Problem for Hermitian Monogenic Functions

open access: yesBoundary Value Problems, 2008
We study the problem of finding a Hermitian monogenic function with a given jump on a given hypersurface in ℝm, m=2n. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the solvability of this problem are obtained.

Investigation of Iron‐Aluminide‐Like Phase Composition in Complex Concentrated Fe32Cu12Ni11Ti16Al29 Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work reveals the phase composition and quantitative morphology analysis of precipitation‐hardened Fe32Cu12Ni11Ti16Al29 complex‐concentrated alloy. The precipitates are shown to have a high coherency. Morphology transition between sphere, cuboidal, and elongated morphology is observed. Finally, the overaging behavior is captured using microhardness.

A boundary value problem for the wave equation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1999
Traditionally, boundary value problems have been studied for elliptic differential equations. The mathematical systems described in these cases turn out to be “well posed”. However, it is also important, both mathematically and physically, to investigate
