Local uniqueness of a boundary value problem in the complex plane

open access: closedAsymptotic Analysis, 1993
We will consider the following boundary value problem for a second-order linear differential equation with polynomial coefficients in the complex plane: is there a differential equation of the specific type with linearly independent solutions y1(x) and y2(x) such that the ratio y1(x)/y2(x) can be prescribed both at the origin and at infinity? We shall

Some discontinuous boundary value problems for nonlinear elliptic complex equations of first order in the plane

open access: closedComplex Variables, Theory and Application: An International Journal, 1994
In Refs. [1], [2] and [4], we discussed the discontinuous Riemann-hilbert boundary value problems for nonlinear uniformly elliptic complex equations of first order in a multiply connected plane domain, but, there the solution for the modified boundary value problem with the indeces ...

Automatic triangulation of plane regions of complex logical structure for solution of boundary-value problems by the finite-element method

open access: closedJournal of Soviet Mathematics, 1993
The paper presents a brief survey of the available methods of automatic triangulation of two-dimensional regions. A technique proposed for nonhomogeneous regions of complex structure ensures compact representation of the input data and generates nearly uniform triangular meshes. This technique is applied to an example.

A Note on an Operator-Theoretic Approach to Classic Boundary Value Problems for Harmonic and Analytic Functions in Complex Plane Domains

open access: closedIntegral Equations and Operator Theory, 2010
A general spectral boundary value problems framework is utilized to restate Poincare, Hilbert, and Riemann problems for harmonic and analytic functions in an abstract operator-theoretic setting.

Complex variable solution for boundary value problem with X-shaped cavity in plane elasticity and its application

open access: closedApplied Mathematics and Mechanics, 2017
A new type of displacement pile, the X-section cast-in-place concrete (XCC) pile, has recently been developed in China. Extensive field tests and laboratory experiments are undertaken to evaluate its performance and quantify the non-uniform deformation effect (NUDE) of the X-shaped cross section during installation.
