Error-bounded GPU-supported terrain visualisation
The interactive visualisation of digital terrain datasets deals with their interrelated issues: quality, time and resources. In this paper a GPU-supported rendering technique is introduced, which finds a tradeoff between these issues.

Bounded-Error LiDAR Compression for Bandwidth-Efficient Cloud-Edge In-Vehicle Data Transmission
Recent advances in autonomous driving have led to an increased use of LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) sensors for high-frequency 3D perceptions, resulting in massive data volumes that challenge in-vehicle networks, storage systems, and cloud-edge ...

Trace additions of Sn and Sr combined with a two‐step aging treatment are shown to enhance the microstructure and performance of Al–Zr–Sc conductor alloys. Strength and electrical conductivity increase concurrently through accelerated precipitation of fine Al3(Sc, Zr) precipitates and improved dislocation resistance, offering a cost‐effective pathway ...

IDIAP Finding Lines under Bounded Error
A new algorithm for nding lines in images under a bounded error noise model is described. The algorithm is based onahierarchical and adaptive subdivision of the space of line parameters, but, unlike previous adaptive or hierarchical line nders based on ...

Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.

In many multichannel active noise and vibration control systems the controller is adapted to minimize the 2-norm of the error signals. This may, however, lead to a large spatial variance in the residual error.

Towards Defect Phase Diagrams: From Research Data Management to Automated Workflows
A research data management infrastructure is presented for the systematic integration of heterogeneous experimental and simulation data required for defect phase diagrams. The approach combines openBIS with a companion application for large‐object storage, automated metadata extraction, provenance tracking and federated data access, thereby supporting ...

Terminal zeroing neural network for time-varying matrix computing under bounded noise
To improve the convergence performance of zeroing neural network (ZNN) for time-varying matrix computation problems solving, a terminal zeroing neural network (TZNN) with noise resistance and its logarithmically accelerated form (LA-TZNN) were proposed ...
