ACTS Theory: Extending the Model of Bounded Rationality
2018In this paper we propose an extension to the traditional model of bounded rationality and incorporate the extended model into a theory of organizational behavior. We argue that organizations are collections of tasks and intelligent agents engaged in performing those tasks, both situated within an organizational setting.

Digital “x”:Beyond Bounded Rationality, Toward a Theory of Bounded Imagination [PDF]
Digital is increasingly affixed to known concepts across different management disciplines – for example digital innovation, digital disruption digital strategy – in essence digital “x”. We advance the theory of bounded imagination as a conceptual lens for illuminating conceptualization of digital “x”, and a delineation between digital from digitization

Prospect balancing theory: Bounded rationality of drivers’ speed choice
Accident Analysis & Prevention, 2014This paper introduces a new approach to model the psychological determinants of drivers' speed choice: prospect-balancing theory. The theory transfers psychological insight into the bounded rationality of human decision-making to the field of driving behaviour.

Semi-Normative Properties of Bounded Rational Bargaining Theories
1988It is postulated that descriptive bargaining theories should have semi-normative properties. They concern the influence of tactical variables, the first demand or the conflict threat; on the agreement. A computer simulation shows that the dynamic aspiration balance theory has some semi-normative properties such as the convexity of the payoff profile ...

Theories of bounded and unbounded rationality in games of conflict and coordination
2018This dissertation combines four studies which investigate the strategic behavior in games. The first two studies are based on experiments and develop theories of bounded rationality in order to explain the observed behavior. This behavior violates the minimal conditions of game-theoretic rationality, i.e., that equilibrium strategies must be chosen ...

Theory of Information: From Bounded Rationality to Interpretive Reason
2001In the current terms of dominant economic theory, which I would qualify as Extended Standard Theory (as opposed to Standard Theory, represented by models of general equilibrium), the place of information is absolutely central. It is defined as a variation of subjective probabilities in a theory of rational decision,a variation with which it is always ...

Simon's Bounded Rationality. Origins and use in economic theory [PDF]
The paper aims to show how Simon's notion of bounded rationality should be interpreted in the light of its connection with artificial intelligence. This connection points out that bounded rationality is a highly structured concept, and sheds light on several implications of Simon's general views on rationality.
