Abstract The study of the behaviour at infinity of global solutions is one of the most important problems in the study of non-linear evolution equations. The problem can be formulated as follows. If u(t), 0 t < oo is a solution of an equation of the form In the following subsection, we gather some preliminary results that will be ...

Bounded solutions of the Golab--Schinzel equation
Aequationes Mathematicae, 2000For a given \(n\in\mathbb{N}\), the functional equation \[ f\bigl(x+ f (x)^n y\bigr)=f(x)f(y),\tag{1} \] is considered in the case where \(f:X\to\mathbb{K}\), \(\mathbb{K}\in \{\mathbb{R},\mathbb{C}\}\), \(X\) is a Fréchet space over \(\mathbb{K}\). If \(n=1\) and \(f:\mathbb{R} \to\mathbb{R}\), equation (1) becomes that one which was first studied by \

Solution Bounds for Transient Vibration Problems
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1977The theory of differential inequalities is applied to systems of nonlinear differential equations of the initial value type. Established bounding theorems are used to construct bounds on the solution of these equations and to develop an iterative procedure for improving these bounds.

The Removal of Protein-Bound Solutes by Dialysis
Journal of Renal Nutrition, 2012Protein-bound solutes that accumulate in plasma when the kidneys fail are poorly cleared by conventional dialysis. Means have been developed to reduce the levels of such solutes, either by modifying the dialysis procedure to increase their clearance or by limiting their production.

Bounding the Solution of Interval Linear Equations
SIAM Journal on Numerical Analysis, 1992The paper deals with bounding the solution set of a system of linear interval equations whose matrix has a special form \([I-D,I+D]\) where \(I\) is the identity matrix (systems of such kind arise as a result of preconditioning a general linear interval system by the midpoint inverse).

Solution of a Moment Problem for Bounded Functions
Mathematical Proceedings of the Cambridge Philosophical Society, 19361. Given a sequence of variables a1, a2, …, we define a sequence of polynomials B1, B2, … byFor every positive integer n, Bn is a polynomial in a1, …, an, with rational coefficients. We write Bn ≡ Bn (a1, …, an) to indicate the variables on which Bn depends.
