Homeomorphisms of Bounded Variation
Archive for Rational Mechanics and Analysis, 2007The main result of the paper is that if \(\Omega, \Omega' \subset \mathbb R^2\) are open and \(f:\Omega \to \Omega'\) is a homeomorphism, then \(f\in BV_{loc}(\Omega,\mathbb R^2)\) if and only if \(f^{-1}\in BV_{loc}(\Omega',\mathbb R^2)\). It is shown that this result does not extend to the case of \(\mathbb R^n\) with \(n\geq 3\).

Variational bounds for the triton
Physical Review C, 1987Variational bounds for the Reid soft core and Argonne V/sub 14/ potentials are extended through the J = 8 partial waves of those nucleon-nucleon forces using Faddeev wave functions calculated with the Jless than or equal to4 partial waves. We verify our previous conjecture that the additional components add roughly 10 keV to the binding energy, and ...

Functions of bounded variation related to domains bounded by conic sections
Mathematica Slovaca, 2019The aim of this paper is to bring together two areas of studies in the theory of analytic functions: functions of bounded variation and functions related to domains bounded by conic sections. Some relevant properties are indicated.

Functions of bounded variation and polarization
Mathematische Nachrichten, 2009AbstractIt is known that, ifuis a real valued function on ℝNof bounded variation, then its total variation decreases under polarization. In this paper we identify the difference between the total variation ofuand that one of its polaruΠ(© 2009 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)

Functionals of Bounded Frechet Variation
Canadian Journal of Mathematics, 1949In a series of papers which will follow this paper the authors will present a theory of functionals which are bilinear over a product A × B of two normed vector spaces A and B. This theory will include a representation theory, a variational theory, and a spectral theory.

On generalization of weighted Ostrowski type inequalities for functions of bounded variation
Asian-European Journal of Mathematics, 2017In this paper, some generalization of weighted Ostrowski type integral inequalities for mappings of bounded variation are obtained and some interesting inequalities as special cases are given.

Selections of Bounded Variation
Journal of Applied Analysis, 2004The paper represents a survey of recent results obtained by the author. These results concern the problem of the existence of selectors wich inherit the properties of a multivalued mapping of one variable with compact values in a metric space. The properties considered are the boundedness of Jordan, essential or generalized variation, Lipschitz or ...

Quasiopen Sets, Bounded Variation and Lower Semicontinuity in Metric Spaces
Potential Analysis, 2017In the setting of a complete metric space that is equipped with a doubling measure and supports a Poincaré inequality, we show that the total variation of functions of bounded variation is lower semicontinuous with respect to L 1 -convergence in every 1 ...

Functions of Bounded Variation
2000Abstract This chapter is entirely devoted to functions of bounded variation and sets of finite perimeter. We have collected several results scattered in the literature, from classical ones up to recent developments, trying to give a self-contained and unified treatment of this topic.
