Boussinesq-type approximation for second-grade fluids
We derive the equivalent of the Oberbeck-Boussinesq approximation for second-grade fluids. We find that two new nondimensional numbers (in comparison to the Newtonian model) have to be taken into account in order to arrive at the approximation.

The Boussinesq approximation for buoyant flows [PDF]
The aim of this communication is to present a simplified, yet rigorous, deduction of the Boussinesq approximated governing equations for buoyant flows.

Incorporating velocity shear into the magneto-Boussinesq approximation [PDF]
Motivated by consideration of the solar tachocline, we derive, via an asymptotic procedure, a new set of equations incorporating velocity shear and magnetic buoyancy into the Boussinesq approximation.

On the Oberbeck–Boussinesq approximation for fluids with pressure dependent viscosities
We derive, by using a rigorous perturbative approach, the Oberbeck–Boussinesq approximation within the framework of one of the simplest implicit constitutive theories: that of fluids with pressure dependent viscosity.
