Stability Estimates of Optimal Solutions for the Steady Magnetohydrodynamics-Boussinesq Equations

open access: yesMathematics
This paper develops the mathematical apparatus of studying control problems for the stationary model of magnetic hydrodynamics of viscous heat-conducting fluid in the Boussinesq approximation.

Layered Radial Aquifer Model for Open‐Pit Mine Closure with Managed Aquifer Recharge

open access: yesGroundwater, EarlyView.
A radially symmetric layered aquifer model (unconfined–aquitard–confined) coupled to a pit‐lake water balance is developed to screen managed aquifer recharge (MAR) after open‐pit mine closure. Dimensionless type curves quantify trade‐offs between pit recovery time, pumping/recycling, and unconfined mounding as functions of aquifer time scales, aquitard

Effect of shape and sizes of a local heat source on convective heat transfer in a square cavity [PDF]

open access: yesКомпьютерные исследования и моделирование, 2015
Numerical analysis of the effects of the local heat source shape on transient natural convection in a square enclosure has been carried out. The local heat source has rectangular, triangular and trapezoidal shape. The boundary value problem formulated in

Evaluation of High‐Resolution CORDEX‐CMIP6 Ocean Temperature Simulations for the Great Barrier Reef

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 131, Issue 15, 16 August 2026.
Abstract Longevity of the Great Barrier Reef (GBR) relies on specific oceanic and atmospheric conditions that are quickly deteriorating under climate change. While global climate models (GCMs) provide insights into large‐scale processes, they often lack the resolution to capture regional nuances affecting the GBR.

Scattering Of Internal Waves By Vertical Barrier In A Channel Of Stratified Fluid

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mechanics and Engineering, 2015
The problem of two dimensional internal wave scattering by a vertical barrier in the form of a submerged plate, or a thin wall with a gap in an exponentially stratified fluid of uniform finite depth bounded by a rigid plane at the top, is considered in ...

The Validity of Whitham's Approximation for a Klein--Gordon--Boussinesq Model [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis, 2016
In this paper we prove the validity of a long wave Whitham approximation for a system consisting of a Boussinesq equation coupled with a Klein-Gordon equation. The proof is based on an infinite series of normal form transformations and an energy estimate.

Impact of Iridium Crucible Aging on Cz‐YAG Crystal Quality and Process Economy: A Data‐Driven Study

open access: yesCrystal Research and Technology, Volume 61, Issue 8, August 2026.
Machine learning models trained on CFD‐generated data reveal how iridium crucible aging influences key Czochralski YAG crystal growth outcomes. Interpretable analyses uncover the dominant role of iridium loss and its interactions with process variables, enabling accurate prediction of heating power, interface shape, and the ratio of growth rate to ...

The Liquid Film Flow with Evaporation: Numerical Modelling

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2016
The flow of thin liquid layer on an inclined substrate is investigated numerically. The mathematical modelling is based on the Oberbeck-Boussinesq equations and the generalized conditions on the thermocapillary boundary simplified during the parametrical

Modeling and Analysis of Nonlinear Radiative and Electromagnetic Effects With Second‐Order Slip in Unsteady Hybrid Nanofluid Flow Past a Porous Stretching Surface

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 8, August 2026.
The current work examines the dynamics of the stagnation point flow of an unsteady hybrid nanofluid (Fe2O3–Cu/H2O) across an inclined porous stretching surface. It considers heat transfer, second‐order slip, electrical field, heat source/sink, mixed convection, and magnetic field effects, as well as linear and nonlinear radiation.

Explicit Solutions of a Gravity-Induced Film Flow along a Convectively Heated Vertical Wall

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2013
The gravity-driven film flow has been analyzed along a vertical wall subjected to a convective boundary condition. The Boussinesq approximation is applied to simplify the buoyancy term, and similarity transformations are used on the mathematical model of
