Integrative Analysis of Dog Serum‐Derived CircRNA Expression and Disease Severity, Inflammatory and Cardiac Damage Biomarkers Related to Canine Parvoviral Enteritis

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 11, Issue 3, May 2025.
Novel circRNA‐based biomarkers for inflammation, disease severity and cardiac damage were discovered in dogs with canine parvoviral enteritis. The obtained circRNAs participated in the entire CPV infection process, exhibited substantial links with infection occurrence and progression and have the potential to regulate infection pathogenesis.

Antimicrobial resistance profiles of 5 common bovine mastitis pathogens in large Chinese dairy herds.

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 2019
The prevalence of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is increasing in human and animal pathogens, becoming a concern worldwide. However, prevalence and characteristics of AMR of bovine mastitis pathogens in large Chinese dairy herds are still unclear ...

Interaction of Tannin with Bovine Serum Albumin by Fluorescence Spectrometry [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
Interaction between tannin and bovine serum albumin (BSA) was examined by the fluorescent quenching. The process of elimination between BSA and tannin was the one of a stationary state, and the coupling coefficient was one. The working strength between the tannin and the beef serum was hydrophobic one.

Assessing the Effectiveness of Immunoelectric Method in Detecting Mycobacterium avium Subspecies paratuberculosis in Cow Faeces With Paratuberculosis

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 11, Issue 3, May 2025.
This technique emerges as a promising alternative to traditional bacterial detection methods. ABSTRACT Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis (MAP), the causative agent of Johne's disease in ruminants, is typically transmitted through the faecal–oral route.

Etiology of Bovine Mastitis

open access: yes, 2022
Mastitis in dairy animals is the primary concern of dairy farmers, which is the most common disease that causes huge economic losses in the dairy industry. The economic losses due to mastitis are from a reduction in milk yield, condemnation of milk with antibiotic residues, veterinary treatment costs, and death.

Evaluation of the Use of Different Sensitive Cardiac Biomarkers in Determining Myocardial Damage in Cows With Subclinical and Clinical Ketoses

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 11, Issue 3, May 2025.
The main hypothesis of this study is that increased BHBA concentrations in cows with ketosis may lead to myocardial damage. The animal material used in this study consisted of 30 postpartum Holstein cows, aged between 2 and 5 years. The hsTn‐I concentration in cows with CK was statistically significantly higher than both CG (p < 0.005) and SCK (p < 0 ...

Use and efficacy of homeopathy in prevention and treatment of bovine mastitis

open access: yesOpen Agriculture, 2019
Bovine mastitis is an important disease in dairy farming. As alternative therapy to antibiotics, whose use is seen as increasingly critical, farmer try to treat mastitis with homeopathy, for example.

Quantifying birefringence in the bovine model of early osteoarthritis using polarisation-sensitive optical coherence tomography and mechanical indentation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Recent studies have shown potential for using polarisation sensitive optical coherence tomography (PS-OCT) to study cartilage morphology, and to be potentially used as an in-vivo, non-invasive tool for detecting osteoarthritic changes. However, there has been relatively limited ability of this method to quantify the subtle changes that occur in the ...

Local host response following an intramammary challenge with Staphylococcus fleurettii and different strains of Staphylococcus chromogenes in dairy heifers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Coagulase-negative staphylococci (CNS) are a common cause of subclinical mastitis in dairy cattle. The CNS inhabit various ecological habitats, ranging between the environment and the host.
