Bovine Herpesvirus Type 1 (BHV-1) is an Important Cofactor in the Bovine Respiratory Disease Complex
Veterinary Clinics of North America - Food Animal Practice, 2010BHV-1 is an important pathogen of cattle. Because of its ability to induce immune suppression, BHV-1 is an important agent in the multifactorial disorder, bovine respiratory disease complex (BRDC). BHV-1 encodes several proteins that inhibit various arms of the immune system suggesting that these proteins are important in the development of BRDC.

Microbial Pathogenesis, 2021
As a multifactor disease, the bovine respiratory disease complex (BRDC) causes high morbidity and mortality that is devastating to the cattle industry. To assess viral infections in beef cattle suffering from respiratory diseases in Inner Mongolia, 302 nasal swabs and serum samples were randomly collected from cattle with mild respiratory symptoms ...

Immune evasion by pathogens of bovine respiratory disease complex
Animal Health Research Reviews, 2007AbstractBovine respiratory tract disease is a multi-factorial disease complex involving several viruses and bacteria. Viruses that play prominent roles in causing the bovine respiratory disease complex include bovine herpesvirus-1, bovine respiratory syncytial virus, bovine viral diarrhea virus and parinfluenza-3 virus.

Bovine Respiratory Disease Complex: A Critical Review
International Journal of Livestock Research, 2017Respiratory diseases in calves are responsible of major economic losses in both beef and dairy production. Bovine respiratory disease complex (BRDC) causing pneumonia constitutes one of the key health issues and most costly problems occurring in young age cattle in all parts of the world.

A Bioeconomic Analysis of Bovine Respiratory Disease Complex
Review of Agricultural Economics, 1994Bovine Respiratory Disease Complex (BRDC) is an important disease affecting both beef and dairy cattle produced in confinement operations. A bioeconomic model of BRDC is developed for a typical Midwestern feedlot. Using vaccine efficacy rates found in the veterinary science literature, significant returns to vaccination are estimated.

Bovine respiratory disease complex
The Bovine Practitioner, 1995Respiratory disease is the principal cause of loss of young cattle worldwide. The syndrome arises from a number of factors, including those involving the animal, e.g., age, general condition and immune status; its environment, e.g., changes in food, temperature and humidity that lead to stress; and the presence of infectious agents, e.g., bacteria ...

Ultrastructural Studies of Bovine Respiratory Disease Complex
Proceedings, annual meeting, Electron Microscopy Society of America, 1975Bovine respiratory diseases cause serious economic loses and present diagnostic difficulties due to the variety of etiologic agents, predisposing conditions, parasites, viruses, bacteria and mycoplasma, and may be multiple or complicated. Several agents which have been isolated from the abnormal lungs are still the subject of controversy and ...
