DYSKERATOSIS IN BOWEN'S DISEASE*

Dermoscopy improves the diagnostic accuracy in pigmented skin lesions, but it is also useful in the evaluation of nonpigmented skin tumours as it allows the recognition of vascular structures that are not visible to the naked eye. Bowen's disease (BD) or squamous cell carcinoma in situ is usually nonpigmented, but may also rarely be pigmented ...

We describe two Afro-Caribbean women who presented with pigmented Bowen's disease. One, a 44-year-old woman, developed a sharply demarcated, irregularly marginated, hyperpigmented plaque with a velvety surface in the perianal area. The other, a 25-year-old woman, developed a well defined, verrucous, hyperpigmented patch on the umbilicus.

ABSTRACTMalignant nail tumours are rare. We report on a 52‐year‐old patient with chronic verrucous lesions of the nail bed of fingers and toes. Nail biopsy revealed polydactylous Bowen's disease. This is the first case reported with hand and foot lesions.

Multiple Bowen's disease may be difficult to differentiate from bowenoid papulosis because of its clinicopathological resemblance to bowenoid papulosis. We experienced a case of bilaterally and symmetrically developed multiple bowenoid lesions in a 71-year-old man previously diagnosed as having chronic lymphocytic lymphoma (CLL).

Thirty-three patients with perianal Bowen's disease were treated at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation from 1954 to 1986. Twenty-one patients were women and 12 were men, ranging in age from 30 to 69 years (mean, 48 years). Twenty patients (61 percent) presented with symptomatic perianal disease, while 13 patients (39 percent) were noted as having perianal

I n the major textbooks, it is rarely indicated that Bowen's disease may be anything but a scaly or crusted plaque, which implies an elevated lesion. Diseases listed in differential diagnoses are seldom those that may be macular. Also, little is said about what difference might exist between early and long-standing lesions.

Pigmented Bowen's Disease and Review of 420 Bowen's Disease Lesions
The Journal of Dermatologic Surgery and Oncology, 1988Abstract. Pigmented Bowen's disease is rare. We report an unusual case of pigmented Bowen's disease of the ring finger, which clinically presented as a superficial, spreading melanoma. Records of 420 lesions of Bowen's disease were reviewed; 7 lesions (1.67%) were pigmented and all occurred outside the anogenital area. We conclude that Bowen's disease
