Oxide Semiconductor Thin‐Film Transistors for Low‐Power Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review explores the progress of oxide semiconductor thin‐film transistors in low‐power electronics. It illustrates the inherent material advantages of oxide semiconductor, which enable it to meet the low‐power requirements. It also discusses current strategies for reducing power consumption, including interface and structure engineering.

Global Effects of Superparameterization on Hydrothermal Land‐Atmosphere Coupling on Multiple Timescales

open access: yesJournal of Advances in Modeling Earth Systems, 2018
Many conventional General Circulation Models (GCMs) in the Global Land‐Atmosphere Coupling Experiment (GLACE) tend to produce what is now recognized as overly strong land‐atmosphere (L‐A) coupling.

Methane exchange in a boreal forest estimated by gradient method [PDF]

open access: yesTellus: Series B, Chemical and Physical Meteorology, 2015
Forests are generally considered to be net sinks of atmospheric methane (CH4) because of oxidation by methanotrophic bacteria in well-aerated forests soils.

Breaking the Durability–Power Trade‐Off: Boron‐Directed Faceted O3 Cathodes for High‐Rate Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Boron‐oxide‐assisted particle engineering stabilizes O3‐type layered cathodes for sodium‐ion batteries by mitigating phase transitions and lattice strain. Acting as flux and structural modifier, boron forms submicron hexagonal platelets with (003) facets and expanded Na‐layer spacing, enabling rapid Na⁺ diffusion and mechanical resilience.

What determines the distribution of shallow convective mass flux through cloud base?

open access: yes, 2017
The distribution of cloud-base mass flux is studied using large-eddy simulations (LES) of two reference cases, one representing conditions over the tropical ocean, and another one representing mid-latitude conditions over land.

Humidity's influence on visible region refractive index structure parameter $C_n^2$ [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
In the infrared and visible bandpass, optical propagation theory conventionally assumes that humidity does not contribute to the effects of atmospheric turbulence on optical beams. While this assumption may be reasonable for dry locations, we demonstrate

Reciprocal Analysis of Sensible and Latent Heat Fluxes in a Forest Region Using Single Height Temperature and Humidity Based on the Bowen Ratio Concept

open access: yes, 2016
Evapotranspiration in forests has been researched for a long time because it serves an important role in water resource issues and biomass production. By applying the reciprocal analysis based on the Bowen ratio concept to the canopy surface, the sum ...

Do outgrower schemes enhance technology adoption and productivity? Evidence from maize farmers in Northern Ghana

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
Abstract Nucleus outgrower schemes are contractual arrangements where well‐resourced large‐scale farmers (nucleus farmers) are empowered by development support agencies to take charge of smallholder farmers, by providing them with market access and the necessary training on agronomic practices and farm inputs for production.

Consumer Preferences for Craft Beer: The Interplay of Localness and Advertising Language

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study explores the influence of the language of the label, origin of production, and origin of brewing ingredients on Croatian consumers' preferences and willingness to pay for organic craft beer. Employing an online survey and a choice experiment among 223 Croatian alcohol consumers, we find that while there's a willingness to pay a ...
