Lattice modeling and calibration with turn-by-turn orbit data

open access: yesPhysical Review Special Topics. Accelerators and Beams, 2010
A new method that explores turn-by-turn beam position monitor (BPM) data to calibrate lattice models of accelerators is proposed. The turn-by-turn phase space coordinates at one location of the ring are first established using data from two BPMs ...

Sectional Variable Frequency and Voltage Regulation Control Strategy for Energy Saving in Beam Pumping Motor Systems

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Despite the fact that the energy losses in the beam pumping motor systems (BPMS) utilized in oil fields represent a monumental challenge industrially, very few studies discussed the feasibility and applicability of a universal energy saving technology ...

Status of the ILC Main Linac BPM R&D

open access: yes, 2009
An introduction and the status of R&D activities for a high-resolution, "cold" beam position monitor (BPM) and the related read-out electronics are discussed. Two different BPM detector concepts, to be attached to the SC quadrupole and located inside the

Climate Stress Testing on European SME Securitised Loans Under Climate Mitigation Scenarios

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Assessing the future impact of climate risks on the probability of default (PD) of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) is challenging due to limited disclosure, policy uncertainty and exposure to physical risks. This paper addresses this gap by integrating macroeconomic variables from the Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS ...

Unveiling the Microvasculature: The Index of Microcirculatory Resistance and Its Expanding Role in Cardiovascular Care

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Index of microcirculatory resistance (IMR) is a cutting‐edge, wire‐based tool that advances the capability assessment of coronary microvascular function. By utilizing distal coronary pressure and mean transit time under maximal hyperemia, IMR delivers consistent, reproducible insights into the microvasculature's dynamic health.

Recent Strategies Toward Durable and Ion‐Tolerant Transition Metal‐Based Electrocatalysts in Seawater Electrolysis

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
Recent strategies address these challenges through ion‐specific regulation, encompassing chloride‐tolerant and chloride‐regulating anodes together with cathode designs that suppress OH− accumulation and Mg2+/Ca2+ coupling. This ion‐management‐oriented framework provides general guidelines for achieving stable, selective, and scalable seawater ...

Development of a high-resolution cavity-beam position monitor

open access: yesPhysical Review Special Topics. Accelerators and Beams, 2008
We have developed a high-resolution cavity-beam position monitor (BPM) to be used at the focal point of the ATF2, which is a test beam line that is now being built to demonstrate stable orbit control at ∼nanometer resolution.

A Mononuclear Scenario for the Copper‐Catalyzed Monooxygenation of Phenolic Substrates

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Whereas a dinuclear pathway applies to the monooxygenation of phenols by the type 3 copper enzyme tyrosinase, a mononuclear pathway has been identified for the same reaction in corresponding small‐molecule systems. DFT calculations of five copper model complexes reveal that the latter mechanism is energetically feasible, identifying all ...

High‐Energy‐Density Redox Flow Batteries: Mechanisms, Design Strategies, and Recent Progress

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The inherent intermittency of energy sources such as solar and wind power hinders the transition to renewable energy, necessitating advanced energy storage solutions. Enhancing energy density is crucial for lowering system costs and enabling large‐scale deployment.

The impact of forced closure on proppant distribution of hydraulic fracturing in shale formations

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
Research findings demonstrate that implementing forced closure within shale formations can remarkably mitigate proppant settlement, concurrently increasing the effective propped surface area from 29.74% to 38.68%. Abstract Forced closure is widely used in conventional oil and gas reservoirs to promote uniform proppant placement.
