Skew-braces and 𝑞-braces

Forum Mathematicum, 2023
Abstract Skew-braces are ring-like objects arising in connection with Hopf–Galois theory and set-theoretic solutions 𝑆 to the Yang–Baxter equation. Interactions between skew-braces are often related to 𝑞-braces. For example, every 𝑞-brace 𝐴 is given by a pair of skew-braces which induces a ℤ-indexed sequence of skew-braces.

Knee Bracing

Orthopedic Clinics of North America, 1988
Bracing the knee is a controversial, complex, and often confusing subject. Knee braces are categorized as either prophylactic, rehabilitative, or functional. Bracing goals are to prevent, assist, restrict, align, or simulate function of the knee. A working knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of specific braces in these different categories is

Knee Bracing

Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, 1994
The authors present an overview of the design and functional features of knee braces and their relationship to knee biomechanics. Four types of knee braces-prophylactic, rehabilitative, functional, and patellofemoral-have been developed to cover the wide variety of indications in patients who have suffered knee injuries or hope to prevent them ...

Prophylactic knee bracing

The American Journal of Sports Medicine, 1987
Six studies to determine the effectiveness of prophy lactic knee braces in preventing medial collateral liga ment (MCL) injury in football are compared. Criteria useful in evaluating studies are discussed, such as the probability of confounding factors, bias in selecting cases and controls, and variations in defining injury and exposure. Cost, as well
