Natural History of Brachial Plexus Neuropathy
Archives of Neurology, 1972A clinical analysis of 99 patients with brachial plexus neuropathy (BPN) and the outcome of 84 of these patients are presented. The disease may involve the upper, the lower, or the entire plexus; the involvement may be complete or incomplete, and it may often be bilateral. Brachial plexus neuropathy is a common syndrome that, although a distinct clinical entity, is often unrecognized. The illness is characterized by the acute onset of shoulder girdle pain without constitutional symptoms. The pain persists for 1 to 2 weeks, then subsides, with the development of weakness and atrophy in the affected muscles.

Superficial Cervical Plexus Neuropathy After Single-Injection Interscalene Brachial Plexus Block
Anesthesia & Analgesia, 2009Interscalene brachial plexus block (ISB) using the modified lateral approach provides a well-established method of anesthesia and analgesia for patients undergoing shoulder surgery. Considering the neural anatomy at the site of injection, the superficial cervical plexus may be at risk of injury.

Osteomyelitis as a Cause of Brachial Plexus Neuropathy
Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, 1982Two infants, younger than 2 months of age, had brachial plexus involvement and true paralysis secondary to osteomyelitis of the proximal humerus. To date, no previous cases of this association have been reported. Electromyography (EMG) demonstrated significant denervation in muscles innervated by the upper trunk, with scattered involvement of other ...
